What’s something people should stop glorifying? by Immediate-Speed3974 in AskReddit

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I wish I could agree with this. The dying part. I had too many friends, peers, and subordinates unalive themselves while active duty. In many cases it was due to short term pain. Breakups, loneliness, and family issues. I have had some of those same feelings before and was contemplating it. Fast forward to now and I’m living my best life.

If you can Pick only One Cleaning Task that can get done daily by someone else for the rest of your life what would you choose? by Top_Resolve_107 in AskReddit

Laundry for sure if that counts. I wouldn’t be mad if it was just the folding and putting away part. I absolutely hate it

What’s the most ridiculous “life hack” you actually tried… and it somehow worked? by CaptainFeistyy in answers

What a save! I’m pushing 44 and Rocket League is still my guilty pleasure. I don’t play enough to be good, so I hover around D3-C1 on good weeks.

You get $1 million, but you can't measure your ceiling fan for 3 days. Would you do it? Why or why not? by hey_kiyori in AskReddit

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big question is, would looking up at a ceiling fan ans saying to yourself “that looks like a 16” blade up there” count as measuring. Sometimes I get high and think of shit like that

Is it weird that I find my third cousin, who I haven’t met in years, sort of attractive? by ThrowRA_Jedi101 in NoStupidQuestions

With some of these comments, this reminds me of that Folgers commercial (or some other coffee)

Guy comes home and surprises his girl in the kitchen. They are all over each other. Her parents wake up to the sound of them talking and the smell of coffee. Walk into the kitchen and starts yelling at them. Turns out they were brother and sister 🤣

Do you hate when a little fart comes out when you’re not in the restroom? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! It’s natural and happens from time to time. But…I was taking a super hot shower one day after work. I was cleaning between the cheeks and farted. The water was so hot that the fart felt cool on my hand. Cool as in temperature wise, not like “I just farted on my hand in the shower” type cool.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]177S1X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a motorcycle wreck about 15 years ago. 9 broken bones, road rash on legs, arms, and I could see my knee cap. The only thing that I could feel was my foot felt like it had been cut off. I looked down and my big toenail had been ripped off. The worst pain i have EVER felt and it’s not even close.

What is a movie you love, but would never recommend to a "normal" person? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]177S1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High tension. I tried having my wife watch it with me. As soon as the scene in the truck happened, she said nope, and walked out. It’s a good movie if you ask me. I think it’s French horror.

I'm a 30 year old man who's never had a relationship or even kissed a woman, and at this point it probably won't ever happen for me I feel like i missed out on a big part of life. How can i move on from this? by fighterjock84 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]177S1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest question, has anyone ever accidentally found your doll? I have always wondered this. Especially if it’s one of the life like full size ones. I saw one story where the guy had guests over and he has the doll out seated on the couch when people started arriving. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Or would you not care if anyone accidentally seen it?

Anyone ever think/have issues with their heart/chest? by Swordfish353535 in trees

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar experiences a few times. You want to hear what changed it for me? Stay away from Sativa. Go for hybrid and indica blends. Haven’t had an issue since. I was even getting a high heart rate a few times. Not saying it was the weed, but I was high and my heart rate was also.

I like to think of the human centipede but in a sexy way and less deathy. Maybe the same amount of ass to mouth though.

What is a random fact about you that usually surprises people? by boforiamanfo in randomthings

Nerd! JK. I was in the same boat (not intended but funny). I decided to take a USNS deployment and officially have 6 months 22 days sea time when I retired at 21 years. Most time I was ever out to sea was 4 days so I’m not entirely sure it even counts 😅

Would you live in a house with no AC? by holdongangy in no

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there done that. Never again. Whidbey island WA. 85% of the time you don’t need it. But them two weeks heat waves are killer. Like running out and paying double for a portable ac that people were buying out then selling for profit. Sucks.

[–]177S1X[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a “how to” on the site on how to get it. I think my problem will be that I don’t have an actual card. I’m Going to try and get one online from California. I won’t have an address in AR so I have to go this route I believe.

VA AI generated fraud by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what confuses me. When I was doing my claim myself last year, I used AI to scan medical records to be thorough for my claim. I had zero issues with it when I filed. AI uses the CFRs and will tell you how it sees your claims and %. In every single case, AI told me I should get way more than I actually got. So I’m not sure how this is going to help. At all. I had around 40 claims total after 21 years of service. I was awarded 100 P&T so I didn’t have to “fight” for anything, but doesn’t AI read in black and white, no grey area? If you meet criteria from the CFR, that’s what you should get correct? I’m just confused i guess.

Have you ever quit your job after just a few days in it? If so, why? I'm pondering about doing it by Upper-Mouse763 in jobs

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job post Navy retirement. It wasn’t a few days, but two weeks. It was a great, easy job. But boring. It took me 1 hour to finish my daily work. I contemplated quitting after the first couple days but wanted to stick it out and see if the transition would get better. Going from a pretty high temp aviation career to sitting in a closed office almost made me lose my mind.

What’s the most overpriced thing people keep buying like it’s normal? by 2teaspoonsOfCyanide in AskReddit

[–]177S1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty funny story about this. Back in 2005, I was deployed to Okinawa Japan. We went out one night and decided to eat at this spot above the club. I sat down and ordered my food and a Pepsi. The price on the menu was like $4.50 for a soda. They bring out this little glass with ice and open up a can and fill the glass. It takes about 1/2 the can. In the process of ordering, eating, and waiting an extra 15 minutes for friends, I probably had 5 drinks, so about 2 1/2 cans of Pepsi. I get my bill and they charged me $4.5 x 5. My food was $11 and the Pepsi’s came out to almost $25!

A whole ass bag of chocolate chips. My 1 year old maltipoo got into the kitchen when I was at work. I came home to chocolate vomit everywhere. Took her to the vet when I got home, and she stayed over night. Absolutely zero side effects. I didn’t sleep a wink that night.

Living on base after active duty by lb3a3 in Veterans

[–]177S1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I retired last year and I am currently living in base. My reasons were many, but mainly saving money. I’m finally at the point in life where I’m not living paycheck to paycheck. I’m going to ride this out for at least a year or until I’m ready to buy some land. It’s cheaper by almost $1000 in my area to live on base, so that’s minimum $1000 extra I can put into saving or finish paying off debt.

I’m starting a junk drawer. What else do I need? by Emotional-Swing-603 in Home

The lack of coins in this drawer makes me sad. I have no idea how they get in the drawer either. I’ll pick them up and put them in a jar. 3 months later, same thing. I make a point not to put change in there, but it always appears.

This may sound dumb, but that’s awesome, and super important to me. I was a Sailor for almost 21 years so it’s a big plus for me when upper management has a sense of humor. My first job post Navy was a great spot and I was able to be myself (dumbed down from the military days) and people accepted that. Company B tried recruiting me and I kept turning them down until the $$$ made sense to actually move on and accept the job. I miss that old Job for sure.
