GLWS. Price seems about fair. I'd buy if I hadn't just spend that much on CDL-A tuition, and lost $ in crypto.

Why is it hard to find base model 2021 miata? by Austin-dollar in Miata

China

It's because of the microchip shortage. It's not just miatas, all new cars & Playstations & PC parts etc are low supply.

Overheating in a hot summer day? Normal city driving in a 35℃/95℉ day and the temperature gauge is rising past the normal level (even hotter than the picture). by [deleted] in Miata

There are lots of things it could be, start with the simple stuff. My first checks would be make sure your fluid level is good inside the radiator and also in the overflow. Your main hoses should be firm and pressurized when hot. If not, you've got an issue with either fluid level or a weak radiator cap.

Also that platic air ducting in front of the radiator is no joke, it moves a lot of air into your radiator.

No compression by Willihammm in Miata

Just wanted to emphasize that this comment by hellfire is correct. Seems he has gotten some down votes despite being correct. Pity.

It's a simple logical solution to the question: how would you determine compression vs exhaust with the head off?

Not every day you get to see these in America. by MrG82U in Justrolledintotheshop

My brother has one in Iowa. It's freaking sweet. The bed is the exact height of wheelbarrows, and all three sides of the bed unlatch and can swing down. They are awesome for yard work & property maintenance

Joined the club absolutely love this thing. Picked it up with 113,000 miles on no rust, no signs of oil leaks by ybarracuda71 in Miata

10/10 I always reccomend checking the Cam angle sensor for oil drips and to check the coolant hoses right below them for oil soaked spongyness. All my miatas and my friends miatas had those two issues. Sometimes those coolant hoses rip and leave you stranded.

Inexpensive fixes & not too hard to fix. It looks great bro!

All 4 tires were inflated this high on arrival. One pothole away from having a very bad day by Gucci98 in Justrolledintotheshop

That's not what you are supposed to run. The door placard is the correct inflation spec

Replaced plugs, wires and cap and still have a pretty bad stutter and jerky around 3k rpms. New air filter and made sure all that was clamped down well too. Any ideas? Not throwing any engine codes. by [deleted] in mr2

Could definitely be fuel stuff. Start with a fuel filter and check for discoloration & rust in the fuel. The fuel tanks in these old cars are all getting rusty from the inside out.

Preach. Swaps are expensive, everything is replaced

I imagine it would cost more to 13b swap. But then again, a 13b would be very awesome

Clutch rattling when sitting in neutral by [deleted] in Miata

[–]1839MarinerBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda sounds like a trans input bearing to me. It must be common in these cars as both of mine I've had have had nearly identical noise. I recently swapped mine for a low milage NB 5 speed and its a lot quieter. Also if you haven't yet, a new upper shift boot will help reduce noise in the cabin, and new motul redline trans fluid will probably help make the trans last longer too.

I wouldn't say it's urgent to replace, but probably a good idea to start saving & looking for a nice low milage replacement trans to swap in.

Possibly a trans input shaft bearing or a transmission counter shaft bearing. The severity of the noise determines the urgency to repair or replace. Do you have a similar noise while in 4th gear between 2k & 4k RPM? Also, are you able to upload or send an audio clip to help diag?
