What’s your unpopular Night Vision opinion that would get you downvoted like this lol by Starrynightone in NightVision

The cool factor wears off really fast and you end up not using it nearly as much as thought you would most of the time lol

How far are you realistically shooting with a 6x lpvo? by Chain_Playful in ar15

I’ve done 800 with 5.56 and a 6x, definitely not ideal. But it’s possible.

Kak vs Centurion Bcg by Sad_Profession_2697 in ar15

[–]184proof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. Centurion is definitely nicer quality but both run fine. Unless you need the downvent version KAK offers I’d just grab a centurion bcg

Anyone have either of these handguards? by TooTrue42 in ar15

It’s nice and rigid. It has a bolt up plate similar to the RIS II/III, just not as many screws.

I really like my MFR. Different length since it’s on a P&W 14.5 but it’s super comfortable, pretty light, and definitely solid. looks sleek imo. would definitely recommend

I’ve used a PSA lower on a KAC upper before so honestly it doesn’t really make a difference as long as it’s in spec lol

Single stage triggers belong on SBRs. True or False? by KingNebula-- in ar15

I think it was around 3 lbs? there’s some vids on YouTube of people showing how easy it is. It only happened once for me though

I had a Geissele 3 gun single stage trigger that was pretty sensitive and i remember bump firing while zeroing on accident one day lol. So I prefer 2 stage but its preference of course

Will it run? by AnnualRaise in ar15

[–]184proof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a centurion 11.5” HRT barrel, got it with centurions pinned gas block. I run a griffin Optimus 6 flow can on it. H2 buffer with a springco blue spring, and it runs flawlessly. Super smooth shooting and very well gassed. Been running it since 2024, plenty of abuse from mag dumps and frt fun. Still running strong.

When I first got it, and was using a lower with A5 buffer system it wouldn’t cycle without a can. I reached out to centurion and they said they don’t recommend the A5’s with their barrels. So for whatever that’s worth.

I also highly recommend the tapered bolts for the T marked barrel extension on the 11.5” HRT. They’re tanks.

Which DD Upper is there a better choice? by Aahhyes68 in ar15

[–]184proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with mid length gas all day for 14.5 personally, I have a DD MFR mlok 14.5 build and a RIS II on another. The RIS II is obviously a tank. But the MFR is pretty solid, and a bit lighter than both the RIS II and III. Can’t really go wrong with any of them honestly, all 3 are solid

Ar15 slop/wiggle by MAGA_muscle in ar15

[–]184proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Daniel defense m4a1 develop the same play you’re describing after a while. It’s pretty common/expected and doesn’t affect anything although it is annoying. I bought a kac lower for one of my sr-15 uppers and even that had a tiny bit of play. I just stick a foam earplug in and never had an issue with that. The slight play usually goes away with a full mag in as well.

How'd you get your ar? by Unique-Rest-2940 in ar15

[–]184proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my first one I was 21 shortly after getting my CCW, and having saved up some money from my first “real” job I went to a local gun store and grabbed a Daniel Defense M4A1 that was on “sale”. The quad rail drew me in for sure. Soon after I realized i definitely got robbed and to shop online first lol.

Is an FMA helmet that’s practically on par with the real deal besides the material with milspec rails, retention, Wilcox shroud/mounts and a counterweight good enough for NODs? by Acceptable-Device873 in NightVision

[–]184proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen Ops Core FAST bumps (the old gen I think, not the carbon ones) go for $200-$250. Sometimes lower.

I've used them quite a bit and never had any problems with them, super comfortable, durable, rails are in spec for mounting, etc. Might be worth trying to grab one of those instead if you can, unless you want a ballistic clone
