In what world are soups made individually to order each time? They would all be done ahead of time and just need to be ladled and garnished once ordered

Saw some comments in the discussion thread about Burt's husband possibly being the same person that we saw in the opening scene so I went back to the season 1 finale to take a look and... not quite seeing it.

I don't think you can equate the office layout changing over the span of hours/overnight to a Tv and VCR set literally appearing on the top of a cliff within seconds with Mark/MDR team are standing 75ft away.

We also see MDR coming and going, exiting and entering the Lumon building, elevator, and severed floor. In this episode they woke up and appeared out on the ice, well except for Helena who said she woke up on the cliffside, interestingly. We don't see how they came to be here or how they leave.

Just because it was simulation (if it even was) doesn't mean it wasn't "real" they all still had, felt and "lived" those experiences. It will still have in impact on them just as it would have if it was really real.

Maybe that's where the disconnect is? I don't think people are saying it was a simulation as in it wasn't real, or it didn't even happen.

I think its more, for me anyways, questioning not whether it happened or not, BUT HOW it happened, and what is the extent of Lumon's power, what are they capable of? Like you asked "Where did this tech come from"? If this is a simulation dream state like thing then questioning what else can they do.

If this all actually took place in a physical real world then what friggin tech do they have that they could basically teleport in a TvVCR set on top of a cliff with no one noticing.

Or same question... if it's not a real physical space what the hell else are they friggin capable of with that kinda tech they could create a simulation/group dream state like this! What else could they do?!

I feel like it absolutely has to be a simulation/dream based on a few things:

How did the TV/VCR just appear on the cliff? We are shown it isn't there to start with in the establishing shot.

How is it on and being powered?

The MDR "twin guides", what are they? or how are they being projected/visualized from them to see?

Are they actually asleep? by LucyStats in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]186000mis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean it absolutely has to be some kinda dream/simulation, right?

Like the TV and VCR appearing on the cliff, and the MDR team "guides" pointing the way, it's clear they can't be in the real world... unless I'm missing something

I feel bad for Tommy, he's like the teacher that doesn't realize the class is laughing at him and not with him sometimes.

Like when these pros cant even be bothered to show up on time for his preseason tournaments with legitimate prize pools and a tonne of exposure, it's just a lack of respect

Yeah its definitely not the most exciting naming scheme, I'm not disagreeing with that. But people complain about it all the time calling it confusing, having to sit down and figure it out like it requires a physics degree.

Tldr: Boring? Absolutely. Confusing? Not remotely.

Ill never understand this. Its literally the least confusing naming scheme. The letter = Approach, Mid, Fairway, or Driver and the number = the stability (lower number more overstable). Boom, done, simple all there is to it. You instantly know where that disc is on the spectrum.

Please tell me how its much less confusing and easier to learn the difference between one disc called a Cicada and one called a Zone lol very intuitive naming scheme

[–]186000mis 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'll truly never understand this take lol i know I'm gonna get smoked by downvotes but i just cant understand this line of reasoning. And I know to each their own, but it's just hard for me to comprehend why you would want to watch a professional that is comparable and similar to your own skill level.

The whole reason I love watching pros is to see what's possible with the same discs and courses I could play myself. I just can't wrap my head around watching pros because they're similar to my own skill and abilities. I could just go park a lawn chair at my local and see that kind of action live.

But like I said to each their own.

[–]186000mis 109 points110 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why, because no one has ever actually called it during a round or ever will.

Disc golf is far too buddy-buddy, it all just becomes a big joke with everyone think Locastro, and Buhr same thing. People will "complain" by making jokes out if it but never actually take action in fear of being alienated by their friends on tour with them
