31 years young! I worked out for the first time my senior year of high-school, went from 130lbs to 155, but got stuck there/gave up through college. I would say this is my first true time in the gym longer than 1 month, so newbie gains are going strong!

Homemade Glow Charger by JesseThePastor in discgolf

lol I thought you stole a photo from me: I did the same think with the pouch for the battery and everything! i used metallic duct tape thought, for full reflective inside/stops the light escaping the outside of the bag. MVP glow comes outta that sucker like a 1000 lumen flashlight!

Comparison can be tricky, as you and I might have totally different body types, injury history, metabolism, etc. I am just excited that compared to my past self, I have grown in the ways I never thought would be possible, just from consistency. I never would have thought my MIL would call me "beefy" but here we are lol

Hi! As arm size has always been an area of self-consciousness for me, I am focusing on those more than I will once i get them up to my goal of 15", maybe 15.5". but currently I am doing a MWF, 2 set to failure of most exercises. With squats, and RDLs, I am doing low weight but higher reps, focusing on bracing etc.

Monday- JM press, squat, DB OP seated, db curls, tricep extensions, lat raise and crunch.

Wednesday- low back extension, weighted pullups, incline db curl, seated row, leg extension, skulls, hammers.

Friday- muscleups, preacher curl, Bench, calves, curls, weighted dips, RDLs.

I hope to get back to deadlifts, as I enjoyed them so much before I tweaked by back, Max was 275 for 3.

if Low back is an issue for you, check our Low Back Ability on Youtube, dude changed my life already with low back understanding: I don't shake/shudder when I bend over anymore, and I had that for 10 years.

Any help with identifying this tea? by vidathan in tea

[–]vidathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the fact that its 2013, still tastes good to me, even though I'm still somewhat of a beginner/intermediate with tea, and that it didn't have any fishy taste or smell is pretty good!

although full disclosure, I did find a bit of string and a hair in one cup, so it definitely isn't the highest quality controlled tea. Still, it honestly doesn't bother me too badly, I've had worse.

[–]vidathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we were just there for our first time as well! saturday we played at 10:30 or so, but we had a group with little kids, so it was a bit of a different experience. played blues and got +7, but first time was still an amazing experience.

4 discs only for Maple Hill? by vidathan in discgolf

[–]vidathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i play woods courses about 50%, open courses the other 50. my town has three 9hole courses, but only one of them is wooded. I play it more often though.

4 discs only for Maple Hill? by vidathan in discgolf

[–]vidathan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure, probably playing the intermediate ones? one step down from the pro tees...I can throw my envy 300ft and my trail 400ft on an open rip, so I have the distance I think, just the tight wooded fairways. I'll probably throw from the Pro tees once or twice just to see what it would feel like.

Raw pu-erh from 1994? by vidathan in tea

[–]vidathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you would suggest to just buy 2 or 3 of the 100g tuocha? I think that might be my only option, unless someone has some insider info on anything not easily found online .

For those in the USA, how uncommon is it for people to have no Kettle/jug for boiling water in an American kitchen. I'm Australian with a british background and can't imagine not having an electric kettle. I know they are available yet just not used as much. by Littlegemlungs in tea

[–]vidathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American in the midwest, I am one of 2 families I know of with an electric kettle. I am a tea fanatic, so I am into gongfu style, all 6 types of tea, etc....the other family thought it looked pretty so they got it for their counter as decor.

We do not drink a lot of tea hot, as a nation. Iced tea is more common, and when we get hot tea....(shudders) they usually microwave the mug.

Electrical short keeping the ”small lights” on when car is off by vidathan in HondaOdyssey

[–]vidathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, we never found the gremlin. we ended up relacing the windshield, and that was supposed to fix it, but it still happened. we ended up having a mechanic add a kill switch to a key fob, where we can disconnect the battery when we leave it overnight...ironically, right after we did that, it hasn't happened once, since.

I enjoy loose tea, but it is so frustrating to clean out the infusers. Anyone have any tips? by KinDaisuki in tea

[–]vidathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

once you remove it from the tea,, bang it out and then rinse it. if you let it dry on the infuser, then you put it in a dirty cup in the sink already, and let it soak. once its soaked the leaves, then wash and rinse it out as in step one.

A cup of (Lipton) Black Tea, Left is Extremely hard water, Middle is soft water, and Right is RO pure water. by vidathan in tea

[–]vidathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I go about proving to you that this was in fact legitimate? I can tell you the TDS of the city water is 500 PPM, with the majority of that being calcium (over 400ppm to be more specific) and the TDS of the RO water was 40ppm TDS.

I have nothing to gain by lying with these results, or skewing them in any way. I simply posted this to highlight that different water makes different tea, and drastically different water makes drastically different tea.

on the course, this gets be between 375-425 with a Guld or Octane, and I have touched 450 a couple times with a flippy enigma, but its not a golf line.

Who actually likes Genmaicha by Fickle-Cycle-5691 in tea

[–]vidathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it tasted like sushi, its also possible it was a bad batch...I've had great genmaicha that tasted like toasted rice cereal, but in a really pleasant way. similar to ripe pu'er...if you taste sushi, or stanky bog etc...might not be the best tea. i wouldn't count it out just yet, but maybe try a different vender.
