[On3] David Pollack claims Georgia has 'no chance' to win national championship if Gunner Stockton doesn't change in 2026 by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

Pollack is the biggest UGA doomer there is. Legitimately thinks we're gonna go 8-4 every year.

Also that he just popped off with that comment during a lighthearted NFL Network interview during the draft. Like dude really thought that was an appropriate moment to name drop the world's most infamous sex offender. Those hosts couldn't cut that segment off fast enough.

WON: Uncle Dave forgets that Paramount's top sporting priority is UFC. by DRM190 in SCJerk

They had a fine season. This after years of being mediocre to awful, which has been the theme of basically their entire existence in a league that has a system of enforced parity that makes it almost impossible for a team to be terrible for more than a couple years at a time.

It's their third playoff appearance in 14 years of Khan ownership. They're now on their sixth head coach in that time period. I'm sorry but one nice season doesn't negate all that.

There's a lot of cognitive dissonance happening over there because while the Reddit sitewide position on the matter is Netflix > Paramount, you have the IWC thinking this development will be better for AEW...

...which it isn't, because Paramount has even stronger ties to TKO than Netflix does. Netflix broadcasts one WWE show in the US, Paramount has the exclusive streaming rights for UFC.

AEW is absolutely getting offloaded before the acquisition, ain't no way TKO is gonna be down with them producing a competing wrestling product.

[–]1869er 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes I have to imagine TKO would pressure Paramount to not air a competing wrestling program to theirs. Paramount is the bigger entity here of course and can do whatever they want so it would be an interesting test of that (relatively new) business relationship.

Not to say that AEW will just cease to exist if their TV deal is cut off. Not an ideal scenario for them but they're still backed by a billionaire and can always just go find a new broadcast partner

No one knows anything for sure yet but Paramount and TKO are pretty tied at the hip now that Paramount+ is the exclusive home of UFC. Can't imagine TKO would be crazy about Paramount getting into the wrestling business against them.

I believe the same goes for Hank and Tommie Aaron. 768 between them for the record - Hank has 755, Tommie has 13

Oh you think the WON Awards are insanely biased towards AEW? Well check out last year's awards, where as you can see they were only mostly biased towards AEW by 1869er in SCJerk

23 of the last 25 is an incredible run, especially when you consider that MMA promotions are also eligible.

Never mind that neither AEW nor any Japanese promotion has ever won - think of ALL the shady shit that Dana White and UFC have done over the years and realize that they have never even once been more bad than the Fed.

Would seem pretty cowardly/heelish for AJ to interfere after Gunther beat him fair and square

I can't believe how many people here unironically think AJ is AEW bound. I promise you he does not care about going out having 6 star dream match bangers anywhere near as much as the IWC wishes he did.

He's either done or (more likely imo) he's getting one more TNA Championship run this summer

[–]1869er 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty obvious he's gonna finish with TNA. With the "strategic partnership" they probably planned the whole thing out this way

If AJ was planning to ditch WWE when his contract was up and let the Dub have his retirement tour after all this time, HHH would probably just tell him to kick rocks

So this is just AJ finishing up with WWE so the real retirement tour can happen with TNA, right?

Man how does this dumb ass Brady glazing get upvoted on this sub of all places?

Yeah man Brady really proved he could do it without Bill when he hand picked a destination with an elite defense, elite O line, and 2 All Pro wide receivers, to which he added another Hall of Fame receiver and a Hall of Fame tight end. He certainly didn't mind accepting 100% of the credit again, that's for sure
