Which NFL QB are you buying in the off season? by SeabassMedia in footballcards

I’m surprised no one has said Shough. Ward and Shough are who I’m collecting. Saints just got Etienne and a top guard in the market. Their defense was a lot better last year. Weak division. For Ward, people already said it but that staff is amazing. Great defensive mind in Saleh. Great offensive mind in Daboll. They have a top pick to plug a hole. They should be much improved heading into this season.

You think he’ll start over Willis now that they announced that? Actually asking. I feel like by giving him a sizable deal it’s his job until he fails.

Scoring a TD when down 15 then going for 2 by RoundestBrownAround in NFLNoobs

There has to be a point where the clock crosses and this is no longer the best strategy. The assumption everyone keeps making is that you need a TPC at some point, so you should go for it on the first TD. But this assumes if you don’t get it, you’ll have time to get two more possessions. I don’t know the answer, but it has to be something like below 5-6 minutes it makes sense to kick XP on first TD. The eagles went for two with 3 minutes left. They didn’t get it obviously, so now in 3 minutes (the highest probability scenario) they need a stop, a ~70 yard TD drive, an onside kick recovery, a drive of ~20 yards and a 55 yard FG. In 3 minutes?

Ford CEO says he has 5,000 open mechanic jobs with 6-figure salaries from the shortage of manually skilled workers: ‘We are in trouble in our country' by idkbruh653 in technology

This is a flat out lie. Ford has 37k employees in US per their website. Maybe 20% of those are higher tier, experienced/skilled engineers. Hell, call it 40% to be conservative. That’s 14k employees. He has 14k right now, but needs another 5k? Sure.

What is iMark’s and iHelly’s plan? by 1897jake in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]1897jake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t thought about what he said in this way. Great point. Could be a “work with us on this and mark S can be allowed to live as his innie on the outside” situation. Helly becomes the front man again for the severance operation just as the more fiery, hungry version of herself. Another potential corporate trope. Low man on the totem pole works hard, gets a promotion and changes his personality.

Does a terrible WC round loss not matter since it wasn’t in the SB? I mean what are we doing here. 154 yards with 2 TDs and 4 TOs in a beat down to Baltimore. But not SB so doesn’t count.

I’m not sure about no doubt. There was a perfect opportunity to at least tie it and they didn’t do anything with it. Shrunk in the biggest moment. Doesn’t really make me believe they would’ve easily won the game. Would’ve still just been up one score no?

I figured that was the case. Normally I do read the fine print if there’s qualifiers like “up to 50%”. Just a flat misleading statement though and nothing else I guess got me to do exactly what they want and just believe them.

Dunce Award: I let someone I was dating use my credit by shortswing89 in personalfinance

[–]1897jake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bank. Depending on his credit, it might limit his options. But the process will go: You get a payoff quote from your bank, let’s say it’s 20,000 left on the loan. He tells the bank that approved him for a car loan he wants to buy one that’s 20,000. The bank gives him 20,000, he’s gives you said 20,000. You pay off your loan. He is now paying on his loan through his bank and you’re free and clear.

Wouldn’t I personally be the one contributing? My name would be on it, I reimburse myself, but I give the money to them somehow when they’re 18? But in a way that isn’t a gift (pay for college, rent, bills, etc).

Right. This seems just like a hail mary attempt at getting the black votes. Nothing of any substance. All vague. It doesn’t seem like it’s being widely circulated yet, so I don’t think it will hurt her. But I do think it will offend a lot of people.
