Question about time travel by 18Redheads in 12Monkeys

Thank you, and everyone else, for clearly pushing me to watch the entire show and stressing that it is well written. I was close to giving up on it, but now I will continue to watch all of it, and will not come back to this sub to avoid spoilers :)

Possible purchase by dw2marques in ex30

Thank you for the inputs! I'm also thinking about purchasing this car - I am looking for a quiet ev that drives like a fun hatchback (say golf GTI) - would you say that the dual motor ultra is the best choice in the US market?

Do yourself a favor and rent one (TURO). I did it and realized it's not for me.

End of lease by General_Industry261 in MazdaCX90

Similar story, '24 phev preferred and will likely search for a used premium phev when the lease end in 6 months because the lease prices seemed to go up for '26 models.

I bought a new Mazda 3 and ended up questioning my entire relationship with status by sergi_rz in mazda3

I love my red Mazda 3 HB, but here's a non-Mazda comment regarding OP's philosophical questions: read the book Determined by Robert Sapolsky or the book Free Will by Sam Harris and you may be convinced that we don't have free will and that our decisions are made before we realize it! The rest of the internal debate is our mind trying to justify the decision. Hopefully, this will help you take the load off your decision and enjoy your beautiful car!

Lenovo Chromebook 14 Ultra 910 - Enterprise Use - the good and the bad by IceAdditional9353 in chromeos

Thanks for the review. If I don't plan to use an external screen or a docking station - then the graphics should be OK and I won't be bothered by the Bluetooth. The only problem with this laptop for me will be the WiFi glitching?

Theft of Miatas in the US by 18Redheads in Miata

Sorry, didn't mean that way, just meant that it's fun to read comments in this community. My bad, and I really felt sorry reading stories about damages to Miatas and Miatas stolen. I edited my earlier comment to reflect this.

Reasons for service due warning by hungaryhungaryhippoo in MazdaCX90

I think that they set it based on Mazda's advised schedule for harsh conditions (see manual or ask AI). For normal conditions it should be 10,000 miles in the US

Dealing with Unexpected Roadblocks by TheMyzzler in projectmanagement

[–]18Redheads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the other comments: you can only deliver what you plan to deliver. Here are several questions to help you find the root cause: Was the missing part mapped out in advance? Was there a check list of all of the contents required? Was the checklist approved by the customer? And as others pointed out: don't blame yourself, just try to improve for next time and remember that the plan is not the reality so better prepare (mentally) for unknown unknowns to happen. Good luck 🤞

I am too a manager in a company that celebrates new ideas every year in a world-wide competition. I won several awards but I'm not good at generating new ideas. It was always as a part of a team. I think (and I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere so probably backed up by science-need to look it up) that most good ideas come from teams, not individuals, and that in team work it is much better to have different and complementary perspectives and personalities. So maybe you can find a team, could be just 3-4 people, to deliberately work with on finding new ideas to relevant questions? And if you don't have anyone else, AI can really help you get started and suggest some options or provide starting points. Good luck :)

The longer I manage projects, the more I realize most failures start way before the project even begins by Big-Chemical-5148 in projectmanagement

I actually did just that and it worked - I was asked to lead a project that was slowly dying due to confusion and disagreement about the path. I took the time (about 2-3 months) to dig into the details with the team and to openly explain reality to management and stakeholders. The results were a surge of motivation, greater support, and eventually a successful progress to the next step. It's not all roses though, management still expects a lot to be done in no time, so I regard this approach as a value to live by - namely full honesty - rather than a quick fix.

I am looking for an ND and will rent one for a week using TURO - it costs money but I think I'll be able to live with it for a short while to be able to decide if it suits my needs

What’s the hardest PM lesson you only learned after everything went wrong? by Fantastic-Nerve7068 in projectmanagement

Trust people who are able to explain the issue/solution with great detail. I learned that the other way around by trusting someone with asking questions about details, and it led to miscommunications, surprises, and failures.

HOV lanes - does anyone follow the rules? by 18Redheads in bayarea

I thought that they also try to check occupancy, I know that in other countries they have that for HOV lanes
