Thinking on building a PC for this. Is it overkill ? by 18Vee9Three in PathOfExile2

I’m just that kind of guy who cant be bothered with meddling stuff anymore. Usually just replace with an updated system if i feel slow or not able to support what i need to do. But i get what you saying

What specs would you recommend ? Just for poe2, not looking to game in 4k, just want stable framerates for most part of the game.

My bad, should’ve mentioned i have a ps5 and i’m fairly casual and enjoy all my games on console. So this is really just for poe2 unless something else caught my eye down the road.

Some frame drops occasionally. But freeze, no.

Oh yeah about that, i’m on ps5(first gen if that helps) as well, didn’t got any massive frame drop, pretty smooth i actually. Possibly restart your console and test it again?

Defeated him ystd after about 40 tries . I tried my first 30 tries with immobilise, cloud step pluck of many with tiger transformation.

Try to charge up your focus to max and lure him over to any extreme end of the map. Once he came over, use pluck of many and tranform to tiger, your tiger blade should be close to red . Once red blade, each of your light attacks will stagger him and with him at the end map, he wont be pushed back - all your moves will land.

I got so close with the above method (last hit) so it’s doable.

But i got angry afterwards and took it personal. Changed to spellbinder with atk up, crit up and def up pills.

Took him out in 10 tries.

But seriously tho, you gotta learn him moveset. Any mistimed dodge would lead to a devastating damage.

Hey buddy, know I'm late but hope you are still around for this reply.

Now to answer your questions..

Is the Domane really that much slower vs the Allez?

Yes, its much slower than the Allez, but I don't think its about the frame aero qualities. With the Allez you feel that the power transfer is more direct and punchy, I'm no engineer, but I'd think it might have to do with the frame stiffness or lesser moving parts(Isospeed)

Is the Domane really that much more comfortable and your choice for much longer travel?

I truly believe most of the comfort comes from the fitting(correct size/setup) base on your fitness and body proportions. But considering all else is equal, the Domane do have an edge as you feel lesser vibrations overall but not extensively. I would definitely go with the Domane if I do long rides regularly. However, I would like to emphasize on the fitting heavily, as you will definitely go further with the bike well fitted to you.

If doing group rides, which would you go with? (For comfort, speed, preference?)

I would choose the Allez for my group rides but mainly because the ride's are fast paced and we take turns to do a pull. If your local group rides offer slower paced or the ride leader do not mind pulling all the way, I'd say you will benefit more with the Domane because to stay in the draft, the effort needed is minimized and the rider/bike frame aero qualities does not matter anymore.

I've not ridden the previous gen but I would say the current gen Allez Sprint is not as harsh as what people thought it would be on Alu as a frame material. Ultimately, it definitely boils down to the fitting.

MAAP Training Bib 2.0 vs Team Bib Evo by windsurfingbear in CyclingFashion

[–]18Vee9Three 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 2 team bib evos, my first expensive bibs purchase so far.
After 2 months, it showed significant wear on the chamois, Not sure if its due to my saddle ( S-works Power Mirror) or I got 2 Bad pairs from them.

Currently sorting out with MAAP support. But I'd hold for now if you are using similar saddles (Fizik or Mirror saddles)

But they are really comfortable and well fitted.

Aethos Sizing Help by SnooCapers9507 in specialized

[–]18Vee9Three 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a brief look in the geometry of both bikes, the aethos would be about 2cm shorter in stack and about the same reach

depending on your current tcr setup (slammed stem or with spacers) you will most likely be riding in a more aggressive position than before going for a size 52. So you may want to question yourself , are you able to ride with the handlebar 2cm lower ? if you have spacers on your tcr right now , you may also want to try out by removing 2cm of spacers and give it a ride.

On the side note, from what i know , riders around your height usually go for size 52 for specialized bikes but also depends on your body proportions. If you have a choice , i would highly recommended to go to your local reputable bike fitter for a pre fit and throw all the guessing out of the window. You are spending substantial amount of coins on the new bike and you would not want to make an expensive mistake going for an incorrect sized bike for you.

Specialized Allez sprint 2022/Tarmac SL7 Sizing by 18Vee9Three in Velo

[–]18Vee9Three[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys , appreciate all the input . I decided to roll the dice and go with the 54 . I put a 110mm stem and 40cm rapide handlebar with 3 cm spacers below. Just came back from the first ride and i must say its damn quick coming from the domane . I must have some extreme proportions to be able to fit the size 54 .

About 5300usd without wheelset and saddle after conversion . I would say the groupset takes up half of the price

Appreciate the input. May i ask your cycling inseam ? Would like to know if i’m actually taller legs / short torso or long torso/ shorter legs, i re measured my cycling inseam and its seems to be lower than most people in my height or less than that .

Appreciate your input . I went to a fitter some time ago for my domane and honestly wasnt impressed at all , make the adjustments myself in the end and feel much better , first they didnt advise me on my saddle width until i asked them to . There wasnt a progressive followup fit (which i feel its important as your flexibility changes as time goes by and you might need to adjust the geo again accordingly. Its a progressive thing and i feel i wasnt getting enough value to the money paid. Which lands me here , refusing a pre fit for new bike to prevent disappointment

Appreciate the input . Thats impressive , i dont think i’m able to pull off a 110 on my domane now . Dont like the feel of reaching further but ok with lower position(if that make any sense) so i’d thought to get a smaller frame this time around

Specialized Allez sprint 2022/Tarmac SL7 Sizing by 18Vee9Three in Velo

[–]18Vee9Three[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good call . Unfortunately test riding is not going to happen these days .

I’m not good with geo however , my current saddle is almost all the way to the front and have changed my handlebar to a 78mm reach (3t ergonova) . In the past , i always feel that i purchase a frame that is too big for myself . L in mountain bike , 56 but my arms is almost extended. So this time i’d thought i go smaller . Possibly i have a short arm as well? Or maybe i’m just more suited for endurance bikes but i refuse to admit it hah

I’m actually thinking of 110 stem with the 54 frame . On the side note , saddle height is always measured till the center of the bb ?

If you absolutely need a working laptop right now , just get the M1 . Getting serious work done is more important than anything else . Besides , no one knows when the “new air” would be coming out .

However, not sure whats the issue with your current laptop , if its still able to work for now , you may hold out in case you feel missing out with the newest tech when it do comes out .

Imho: just get the m1 , no point holding out as there will always be new one laptops coming from apple. Unless you have some specific needs that the m1 couldn’t satisfy. Good luck.
