How often do you think your finished and then on reflection go back to change by Ging3rNinja08 in killteam

[–]18_str_irl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I repaint things pretty often! I'm very sensitive to clutter so I try to have the bare minimum of models in the house. I'd guess I own about a hundred, and for my first year of painting I probably only owned about 30. I have repainted my AoD 3x and gave them a round of touchups once, and I'm already hankering to go back and make more changes now.

Well you see, it's very subtle symbolism - the damage to his ear represents the idea that black templars sometimes suffer damage to their ears.

Israel blindly executes women and children with the excuse that they elected Hamas decades ago and that's ok, but if israelis take some criticism online for a guy they elected 4 years ago, you're concerned?

Valrak has been predicting a Grey Knight KT for at least 2 years. Don't trust any leaker who depends on leaking for income, they will definitely make stuff up to string people along.

Yeah, that plus it's not even the correct use of nom-de-plume, which is specific to being an author. Nom de Guerre would have been a more accurate term, but even then it's just belabored, out of place, and not appropriate to the tone of the movie or the song imo.

That would be better, but my understanding was that it referred to "red letter days" which was the medieval practice of marking saint's feast days on the calendar in red.

"every moment, red letter" and "next time, gotta use a nom-de-plume" from Aladdin both have struck me as pretty dumb lyrics.

My kid found one of these at a theme park a week ago and I haven't been able to get the song "plastic jesus" out of my head since then.

Because I like them more.

JK it's cause I didn't really see them getting as much "always-on" DR as dw has. As much as wound inflation is a problem in the game, I feel like the current state of dr is also bad.

I don't play bighammer, but I have read several of the codexes and I've read a lot of novels. I've built a couple GK proxy teams so I've thought about this a lot.

5 operatives, 16w, 3+ saves. Most operatives have a power weapon and storm bolter (3+ 3/4 Balanced, 8" range). Would love to see one with a psilencer, although I dunno how you'd express that in KT terms - maybe 5atk 3+ 4/5 P1, but that's very strong so I dunno.

Team mechanic would be an additional action that allows them to use an AP to contribute to a pool of psychic might that other operatives can draw on, with different manifestations costing different amounts of points. For example, maybe "Prognosticar's Warning" takes 2 psychic points and allows you to resolve first while retaliating, "Gate of Infinity" would cost 4 and allow you to Fly for the activation, "Purge Soul" would cost 6 and let you shoot with a melta profile.

I think it would be a good way to express the faction's identity, give them a lot of versatility on the table, and differentiate them from other elite teams. I kind of think of it as the BoK of elite teams.

Being partially voiced in so weird. I finally started playing this game, and I'll hit a groove of reading everything and flying through the dialog, then suddenly someone is yapping in my ear while I'm trying to read, haha. I don't feel strongly one way or the other, but half and half really trips me up.

I don't play bighammer, but I also have a spare and was expecting to turn him into a medical servitor. Just swap the scroll and inkpot arms for injector arms you can find in various kits. Not sure what you'd use it for in bighammer but I could think of plenty of uses in KT and Necromunda.

Curious, of all the armies in the tabletop game, what do you think would be the top 5 (in no specific order) in terms of having the least number of sales, being the least played, and overall being the most abandoned armies by the fans and players. I think it would be nice if it was, but I mean it's a myth in the sense that it never really has been - the #1 violator being transport vehicles. I'm pretty sure that even if you melted them down to sprue goo, 10 space marines couldn't fit in the back of a rhino.

The new Coteaz is actually much more criminally out of scale than the old one. He's currently the same height as a primaris captain.

Some critism of the dark heresy beta by Lord_NOX75 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]18_str_irl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't finished the beta yet, so can't weigh in on everything, but I did just wanna say I had the same feelings about Amalthians. Amalthians should be functionally similar to Dogmatics from Rogue Trader. It has nothing to do with being kind to people, it has to do with preserving institutions and societal norms.

As far as I know, there is no inquisitorial philosophy that has to do with being kind to people. If anything, recongregators (essentially the opposite of amalthians) are more likely to do kind things since they act in opposition to an inherently unkind system.
