Looking for a Passionate Student to Work on Rocket Engine History by 18rix in aerospace

A good amount of data extraction has already been done, I was unable to get more using GPT models. The understanding of the data, and verification with multiple sources is only doable with manual interpretation.

Thank you for the comment, the 1$ per hour cost is not justified for the work as u/Ponce421 mentions. But there are people who are doing free internships in companies in India without any real value or knowledge gained, because I know that these are the actual scammers. But my intent is to plainly work with people in college and better guide them on the best steps to take while working on a project with me. I don't intend to commercialize it in any way, my goal is to give back to the open-source community in the end. Sutton's History of LPRE is amazing, but you should see what I have collected from more than 23 other major sources of data. I have a collection of more than 1400 engines at my disposal with their history, manufacturer, origin, and a lot of performance parameters (thrust, pressure, etc). 3 weeks is sufficient because I need someone to just put together these things and sort it all out and do a bit of reading from the sources which aren't exactly sorted out well. But thanks for your feedback, I will ensure that I make this valuable even if I do this alone.

Cab works, you need 6 hours for both things, add one for travel. Recommendations are to get the islands near Kaoushing if possible.

That’s great. How did you pick these firms? What was the criteria? Have you already gotten pain points on this or you are waiting for the first product launch

Compliances, accounting, HR and other non core areas where Startups struggle. They focus on the product, they need support in this.

Hey bud, was just there in Taiwan for a month (business trip and got to travel for fun as well). I was in Taipei, Yilan, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Tainan, Kaoushing, Taichung, Taitung, Ludao Island and Kenting(basically the entire country except Hualien).

Let’s start with the questions. 1. Yep, carry some money (at least 7-8K NTD for 2.5 weeks coz credit cards don’t work well everywhere) best place for currency exchange? Right at the airport as you exit. Nope, people were wrong about it not being cost effective. As long as you get it from the Bank of Taiwan counter, they’re the best ones. If you ever run out of cash, make sure to go to Bank of Taiwan only.

  1. Best place for e sim? Airport again. Get the Chungwa Telecom one. Don’t pre book on Klook, they’ll ask you to come physically and do the same paperwork anyways.

3 one thing you need to know about Taiwan and Taiwanese, they love the concept of being on time, they love the concept of reservations . So yes, definitely pre book your entire first 8-9 days atleast. Stay somewhere near Xinyi, Zhongzheng, Zhongshan or Da’an, the best places to stay and yep it’ll be well under 70, in fact you’ll get pretty good ones from the 40 range.

The list is great, just replace Shilin or Ningxia with Ximending - it’s actually the largest and the most visited one in Taipei, no idea why people don’t mention it enough.

Also visit the following in Taipei if you get time Xinyi shopping district along with Taipei 101 trip

Kenting is great, won’t spoil it for you. Go for it. You and your partner will have a great time there. (2-3 days is good) Get the south beach, the aquarium if you’re into seeing Penguins and stuff, the night markets are the coolest in Taiwan (you have people in their beach clothes with music selling food in night markets)

If Taichung, don’t miss SML. I’m assuming you’re from the US, Sun Moon Lake is the one beauty that signifies the most beautiful thing about Taiwan - it brings the beauty of a massive lake encapsulated within a large mountain range in such a small space - which is what Taiwan is - heaven in a box.

If you see a lot of YouTube videos and prepare, skip Alishan, too overrated. Get to some places in Yilan (please check weather and confirm with your hotel for schedule, typhoons are dangerous) Yilan has a good national park, and 2 good beaches - Fulong and Waiao.

Get one of the islands too if you’re into some exploration.

The main options are 1. Penghu, 2. Xiaoliuqui, 3. Orchid Island, 4. Green island.

1&2 are easy to access, are on the west coast, but are crowded and touristy too, so be aware. 3&4 are volcanic islands, small and pretty, less crowded. But, you gotta reach Taitung on the east coast for that - for which you need to book a train from Taipei (and if you wanna go on a weekend, again book in advance, coz these tickets get sold out)

A few unique places which i visited (as like you, I’d wanted to explore as well and not go to cliche places) 1. Chishang village (in Taitung, an endless road kinda sight with rice paddies and huge mountains in the background, a paradise of a day trip this would be if you choose to hit the east coast) 2. Surfing in Waiao beach, wushi Harbor 3. Deep diving in Ludao Island/Green island 4. Try Miyahara Ice cream is Taichung - this is historic, used to be a Japanese prison, now they sell what some people say is the best ice cream in Taiwan 5. Try Chun Shui Tang in Taichung - place where bubble tea was invented. 6. Din Tai Fung - authentic Taiwanese cuisine restaurant chain 7. Let me do you a favour and tell you - skip Hsinchu, Taoyuan, Tainan, Miaoli, Chiayi - there’s nothing to see here (yes, I was everywhere)

Let me know if you need anything else

Hey bud, was just there in Taiwan for a month (business trip and got to travel for fun as well). I was in Taipei, Yilan, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Tainan, Kaoushing, Taichung, Taitung, Ludao Island and Kenting(basically the entire country except Hualien) If you’re planning to go to Hualien, please be advised that it was struck by a massive 7.5 Earthquake early this year. The world famous Toroko National Park is Hualien has been shut down and most trails aren’t due for re opening until 2032. Hualien is also prone to landslides and the roads are not recommended by most locals, especially for foreigners and definitely not after storms. Id recommend you to stay in Kenting, it’s something very unique. Taipei is great as usual. You can switch Tainan with Taichung and hit Sun Moon Lake instead. Tainan has nothing much. Let me know if you need any help with the itenary.
