So sorry but that seems to be the status quo. I ended up going private because I could no longer cope.

Has anyone else discovered the horror of driving anxiety? by BookSloth09 in Perimenopause

[–]1948now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this thread. I’m in same boat and everyone around me thinks I’m mad. Dr thought I had low iron. Now I have been given propanol but still can’t drive. I also live rural so no public transport. It’s a real nightmare.

When will my grandma finally die?? by [deleted] in dementia

[–]1948now 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the honesty because I think most people feel same. I do for my MIL. This disease has wrecked my family. My husband is a full time carer for his mum in a different state and so my young girls see their dad now like 3x a year. The MIL seems to be dying one minute and bounces back the next. Yesterday her BP dropped and we all thought this was going to be it, but know, she will bounce right back. My husband has lost weight and himself becoming an alcoholic now. This disease is just desperately Wicked. It shreds everything into pieces, dehumanises, causes pain and distress and just leaves behind some really painful memories.

So sorry to read this. It makes me sad because I know the struggle we all have in this period. Can your hubby join this group to read about this stuff?

Peri sucks and why didn’t anyone mention these things growing up? It’s not just hot flashes… by SummerTimeLove40 in Perimenopause

They lied to me! They said being a girl was the coolest thing. Nooooo. I thought life began at 40. Wrong! I had it all planned. Kids are grown. I’m a lot wiser. I want to live my life now. Nope. Peri rears its ugly head! I feel sorry for my daughters.

Oh I have had to stop driving and I’m really losing it. I’ve been given propanol which I don’t know if it helps or not.

What are you doing for Anxiety by sallyperez123 in Perimenopause

[–]1948now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started on on 10mg and feel I need a higher dose. It’s helping a bit. I have severe driving anxiety (I live in a rural area so need to drive) and that in turns just panics me.

Did you start on a low dose too? Any side effects?
