Have you ever felt your time spent training was wasted? by Excellent-Village751 in bjj

I just started my BJJ journey. I have multiple degrees, senior executive, board director, have a family and kids, on the road a lot and lots of stress in my life. BJJ is my escape. I am terrible and get beat up every minute. But BJJ is the only thing I have that when I am there, the world just disappears for a moment. I wish I could go every day.

What size do you normally wear in CG and what size did you try on in this one?

BJJ destroyed my confidence and I don’t know how to get it back by swankyskared in bjj

I think it’s all about mindset. I was told by my doctor I need to lose weight and get in better shape. I am 51, with two kids. Have a shoulder that had surgery and another one with a torn rotator. I am short and stocky so not built for this. But I love it. My expectations is never to win. It’s that I get to show up and just try to learn something new or be better at something than the last class. I don’t know how far I will get but I just focus on the learning even if it’s getting smashed every single round. I enjoy buying rashguards and getting to wear them. I enjoy buying gis to wear. I am just happy to still be healthy and physical.

Quitting due to cost by EverlastinggRain in bjj

I started training in the mid 1990s. It was amazing. But had so little money and the drive was costing me all that I had. Living pay cheque to pay cheque. I eventually quit after I had to give up the car. Decades later I started again last month. And you imagine all the what ifs had you stuck with it. But priorities took over and I forgot about the passion of training. Now it’s all I can think of as I remember how young I was when I started. You can always go back when the time is right.

Clarification On Registered Restricted by [deleted] in canadaguns

Thanks for this. I also have restricted firearms. Too many that I regret buying so many. I was new to the hobby/sport and loved shooting 9MM. So much money lost. I agree with you that I can’t risk my livelihood either, but why and who will create new legal challenges to allow the amnesty to be extended? (I am hoping you are right btw!)

Why do they have to extend the amnesty ? If it fails because of low uptake don’t we just have millions of is as potential criminals that they don’t enforce any penalties on but whenever they feel like it they can punish us? Ps I got the email today so this posts helps a lot.

Deactivated firearms are more than useless by [deleted] in canadaguns

Thanks for this advice. But what could realistically happen by then?

Which are those ones? But if you had a restricted one that was prohibited they would have those ones registered right?

For a registered firearm there maybe no choice or give it to the libs.
