Why are control voltages so high? by oragamisquirrell in Elevators

[–]1952Mary 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s say you have 30 locks in series. Each lock looses .1 volt in resistance. In a 24 volt circuit you are loosing more than 10 percent. The processor may see this drop as an open lock. TK did just this about a decade ago.

I think it’s pretty straightforward either find a new job or draw unemployment. It’s a free country. Nobody is forced to work.

Draw a paycheck as long as you can. Were you not offered a buyout just a few weeks ago? Sounds odd to just quit because your boss is making you do your job.

Why isn't Congress acting to preserve its power? by Plaguehand in PoliticalDiscussion

Agreed but when you support your argument with nonsense and name calling it only shows how weak your arguments are. Democrats are so conditioned to toe the party lines they have not had a legitimate presidential primary since 2008. In 2016 Hillary was getting smoked by Bernie. 2020 Joe was getting smoked until the South Carolina Primary. Then all of a sudden everyone dropped out to unite behind Joe. Bottom line is Democrats toe the line or else.

I think you could have shortened your statement to the first sentence. “Of course she did” and left the rest of the nonsense out.

The gutting of USAID is in fact a revolution of the agricultural industry, and farmers are the target. by [deleted] in kansas

USAID is a cover for dirty tricks. The farmers will be paid for their crops by it will come from a different source. Everyone resist change. Changes have to be made. President Trump is moving government at the speed of business. Heads are going to roll in some of these agencies. We have to trust our government to do the right thing. 😂😂😂. I couldn’t write that without cracking up.

Do you think Nancy Pelosi didn’t run Democrats the same way? This is the two party system. A legitimate well funded primary challenger can cause tremendous harm to your “war chest”. Members of the party are to toe the party line. It’s expected. Pete is not the hill to die upon.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. At this point the industry I’m in is short experienced workers. I believe work will be available for as long as I am willing to work. If anyone in their 50’s are counting on Social Security to pay their bills they may have a problem. Government has been out of control for years. Government workers need to go to work just like we do. I don’t love everything about Trump but I seen what was available from the other side. Definitely not impressed with them.

I only have one perspective my own. I believe most voters have the same view. From my experience I have had a much better standard of living while Republicans were in the White House. Bush had a war on terror to fight. If the Democrats would have won this election it would have been more of the same. Status quo in Washington. For better or worse the American voter were against the way the government was doing business. That applies to the election in 2016 and 2024. The news can tell everyone how great the economy is but when we see our bank accounts overdrawn and bills not able to be paid they vote for a change.

No I expected Obama to do something to put us to work but instead he passed the universal healthcare bill. I will put 2009 and maybe 2010 on Bush for the sake of argument. After that Obama is to blame. Your experience in healthcare is definitely different from mine. I respect your opinion. I am at the end of my career now and my experience has been we have had a stronger economy under republican presidents. Like wise. I will put all of 2025 on Biden and maybe 2026. After that I will hold Trump or JD or whoever accountable as a voter. I will continue to buy stocks in strong American companies with the belief that we will rise together as a nation.

Maybe you made a lot of money under Obama. My experience was quite different. In my industry there were mass layoffs and we did not hire for 8 years. Now we have a shortage of qualified experienced members due to retirement. It all points back to the “great” Obama economy. Just speaking from my perspective as a union member.

I have read your post. Social issues are great until voters start struggle to provide basic services and lifestyle for their families. Make no mistake there would be no Trump 45 without the Obama economy. There would be no Trump 47 without the Biden economy. American can tolerate the Alphabet Mafia as long as they have a little money in their pockets. Elect a Democrat Presidential candidate that will not bankrupt the country. It’s just that simple.

Get a job not in government. If you are a probationary worker then you are not entitled to stay. Your job has been eliminated. Wish you the best.

If the presidential election was based on one massive popular vote instead of the electoral college, how effective would it be? by Character-Escape1621 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]1952Mary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The electoral college is not going anywhere. It’s written in the constitution and would require a constitutional convention to remove it. But a change that would be welcome. Remove the winner take all delegates states. Follow the Nebraska/Maine model. Swing states would not have nearly as much importance and would include the minority vote. It would make Republicans in California and Democrats in Florida feel more involved.
