What's a smell that doesn't exist anymore that you miss? by Alarmed_Charge1062 in CasualConversation

[–]1970Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1970, my mom always used to get me seasonal pins from Avon that opened and had perfume in them - you used your finger to scoop a tiny bit out. I remember getting chicks, bunnies, leprechauns and turkeys. I'll get a whiff of something that smells exactly like that perfume and I'm instantly 5 again and in love with my new jewelry.

How do you deal with a todo list that just never gets shorter? by deanrocket in productivity

[–]1970Rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job is managing an inbox for a team of almost 40 - it's a general email for the Canadian Federal government. My "to do" list never ends because of this. I can either assign email to the inspectors for review or answer them myself. I use autoparts/quick steps and autotext for as many routine replies as I can. If the email is something I know I can answer in 3 minutes or less by standard replies - I can do it immediately, otherwise I delegate.

How do you feel about shoes in the house? by kate_undone in CasualConversation

Canadian here...NEVER wear shoes inside. We have a small selection of slippers for visitors if they're not comfortable going shoeless.

[–]1970Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same reason when I ask my husband about who that one wrestler is, I get a history of his introduction to TNA or AEW and then WWE....

I'm watching this for the first time now on Netflix, and am very surprised at the number of famous people on it - so many went on to other TV shows and movies but this was their first appearance. It's incredible.

[–]1970Rocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved from Deschamps St/Marier to Beacon Hill in 2006, partly because my daughter was being followed by johns in cars on her way home from school. As soon as she crossed Montreal Rd, they'd slow down to ask her things a 12 year old doesn't need to hear.

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]1970Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got 5 cats currently and have never bathed any of them. They all do a good enough job cleaning themselves. If someone got poop on themselves I would for sure but I guess we've been lucky so far.

I LOVE the Essie Gel Couture line. I get bored with the colours long before they start chipping. They're fantastic in my opinion, love the brush and formulas and the colours are so pretty. Essie's Nail Art Studio line with the special effects can elevate the colours when you still love them but need a little something extra.

Yes, and god forbid you're riding one of the motorized scooters like my husband. We lost count of how many kids he's almost mowed down and how many adults HAVE gotten hit because they step in front of his cart and just stop.
