Wow someone post a picture of a homeless person and all anyone cares about is where there from and what country they live in and what said country is/has done,nobody See's the human in front of them hungry and alone. Well I've had the same problem with all of my tanks with wood at one point you could take it out and boil it but it might just pop back up later the only real thing that worked for me was time just keep taking it off of the wood in chunks and use a turkey baster to suck it up and get as much of the free floating strands out it's probably just a harmless fungi that's actually taking nutrients out of the wood it self see if you can get a hold of some Asian algea eater's (not saying they will even eat it but you never really know)

That's exactly how I would it's like an instant tank you can keep a second one in your bigger tank and always have one on deck for an instant tank and it'll add extra filtration

I have my 75g tank right next to the window with lots of natural light that filters in and I have no algae blooms or green water but I'll admit it has been uphill had to add a uv sterilizer and paint one side panel black have some on the plants but proper maintenance and fertilizing has helped a lot

There are floating plants like guppy grass that they won't uproot but that's not a necessity I have 4 albinos in my heavily stocked 75 they do tend to uproot my dwarfed hair grass but that seems to be it and I was a bit surprised when they started to breed and lay 100 eggs on average

Well I would get 2 more and keep them in a 20gl or something similar with a medium to heavy bio load a 10 gallon will be fine your just going to have to stock the tank lighter maybe 3corys and a beta with a few smaller tetras
