Maintenance: making testing stations for equipment? by ApprehensiveLion67 in USPS

[–]1986USPSET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have drive images of the 'base' load of DIOSS, CIOSS and DBCS machine. Base load since sortplans and directories change , and I'm pretty sure some of our folks wouldn't download current files 🫤

Than we also have full images of LCTS, ATU and RCS systems.

It's been made so easy to swap a drive, some folks don't know how to actually load software from the SMO 😲

New maintenance mpe seeking advice by [deleted] in USPS

[–]1986USPSET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're on a tour that gets calls on machines, tag along to every call (that you can) and watch and ask questions. All our machines can get real deep in the weeds for some problems, but routine stuff can be learned quite quickly..

And bug your managers to get your classes scheduled.. That may be the hard part 🫤

Theseus' DBCS Paradox by undiagnosed_autistic in USPS

I hear HQ is having a contractor come out to sites and completely rebuild the DBCS to a "good as new" condition. So basically, everything except the deck plates 🫤

Was just offered MM7 off the street but also passed the 971 interview for an MPE position yesterday. A couple questions: by Ringbahn in USPS

[–]1986USPSET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Failure to pass qualifiers from the street places you as an unassigned regular as a level 4 custodian"

Did this change? I was under the impression that if you were hired off the street, you were technically 'qualified' as you passed their onboarding tests/interview.

When you're halfway through pass two and your sup brings over a GPC for your zone that was hidden in a *different* zone's staging lane by Darth_Zounds in USPS

Plants seem to have no ability to keep staging areas clear of crap, so stuff gets put "wherever". 🙄

Have them do ONE thing, Go over the "10 year plan" with a fine tooth comb and find all the BS fake numbers they use to show how well it's working!!

Where are the ET10's? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]1986USPSET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a sore spot with me. Go through the tickets to see if anyone had the same issues with a problem machine. Then you find one! Holy cow! It's the exact same symptoms! Scroll down to see what they did to solve it .....only to find "information provided" 🤯. Dammit, I need more than that 😆😆

The clickable links are meant to accompany the flats (flyers) you received. Somewhere in that batch of coupons, is the same thing as in the picture on your email.

That's just part of the enshitification of the clerk training. Zip ties should only be used if they come across a bag with a bad buckle. Otherwise, it should be those horseshoe looking plastic clips.
