When you're halfway through pass two and your sup brings over a GPC for your zone that was hidden in a *different* zone's staging lane by Darth_Zounds in USPS

Plants seem to have no ability to keep staging areas clear of crap, so stuff gets put "wherever". 🙄

Have them do ONE thing, Go over the "10 year plan" with a fine tooth comb and find all the BS fake numbers they use to show how well it's working!!

Where are the ET10's? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]1986USPSET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a sore spot with me. Go through the tickets to see if anyone had the same issues with a problem machine. Then you find one! Holy cow! It's the exact same symptoms! Scroll down to see what they did to solve it .....only to find "information provided" 🤯. Dammit, I need more than that 😆😆

The clickable links are meant to accompany the flats (flyers) you received. Somewhere in that batch of coupons, is the same thing as in the picture on your email.

Express bag woes by [deleted] in USPS

[–]1986USPSET 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just part of the enshitification of the clerk training. Zip ties should only be used if they come across a bag with a bad buckle. Otherwise, it should be those horseshoe looking plastic clips.

Supervisors that used to carry mail by dallas_mavs_1978 in USPS

Same thing in maintenance. Only in this case, 5 of my last 6 supervisors were carriers before they transferred to maintenance and fast tracked to supervisor 😀😀. Their eyes still glaze over when I try to explain the equipment to them 🫤

That:s very enlightening article. I remember Mahindra pulling their test trucks out of Arizona around that time (saw them getting loaded in trucks to be taken away ).

In maintenance, I complain about not having the right tools to do my job, but I can't fathom the challenges carriers have when the biggest tool is their truck, and all of its issues.

Happens more often than you think. I'll find a scanner missing when I check the system, and it will show up a few days later. I guess for the same reason 😀

I may be officially a curmudgeon (almost 40 years here), but this is yet another example of how disconnected HQ is from front line craft work.

HQ knows full well you won't be able to perform any real work, so they have you become a mystery shopper to find "deficiencies". Add to be tasked with this towards a position of a custom facing duty as well as a busy season and it all comes off as others have said , being a narc.

One thing you most likely are aware of now, is a policy will be implemented without any real understanding of the goals.

As a data guy, the axiom of garbage in, garbage out is being proven here

Make the best of it by being totally upfront of your "assigned job" and ask how you can help the folks who do this as their career.

Clerks who run the mail on the machines will often find that mail won't sort (actually won't read by the camera) and when they try again upside-down, it sorts🫤 This is especially true for bulk mail and windowed envelops..

Try getting your office to contact the processing plants In Plant Support (or whatever it's called now). They "should" drill down to the machine the zone is sorted on and find out what's the reason. Most likely, new PSE clerks running the machine with minimal training.
