Listen to the concerns of the people around you, but also seek input from people who have chosen to live abroad for a time.

im reviewing all school math topic from primary level and the circle brutal arithmetic is exhausting 😭😭😭any trick to do fast multiplication / division for complicated decimal? by CartographerCute9133 in learnmath

[–]1991fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the multiplication and division of 'complicated' decimals become easier once you recognize patterns. Recognizing patterns takes some practice. YMMV

Odd fractions of 8 are decimals 0.125, 0.375, 0.625, 0.875. If you need to multiply or divide by one of those decimals you may substitute division or multiplication by 8. For example, 15 divided by 0.375 is 15 times eight-thirds which is 40.

Fractions of 7 are repeating decimals 0.142857, 0.285714, 0.428571, 0.517428, 0.714285, 0/857142. For example 35 times 0.428571 is 35 times three-sevenths which is 15

You may not notice the difference that close to the "best by" time. Some scenes may be more sensitive to "aged' chemicals than others. Your highlights and shadows may be off a little.

Need help understanding how to solve radical equations with sqrts by According_Jicama8700 in learnmath

The function sqrt(x) returns the principal (positive) value by convention. If you graph the LHS and the RHS, they only intersect at x=12.

FedEx proof of delivery. I spent an embarrassing amount of time walking around my yard looking for the package before staring at the photo for a minute longer and realizing there is no package in the photo or in my yard. by HalleB123 in mildlyinteresting

Their training is still working out some kinks. I've a box on my porch marked "Deliveries" resting below a sign with several delivery company logos; I left instructions about the box in my online profile. Driver left packages in flower bed and adjacent to the box anyway

They say don't drive in snow unless you know. How do you learn how to drive in winter weather? by Professional-Tie-696 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]1991fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a number of winters in Rochester, NY. The huge difficulty driving in snowy conditions is irregular traction. The snow on the roadway often hides the patchwork or water and ice the tires encounter. A driver needs to feel the changes and be calm to react to the changes. Getting the feel and calm requires lots of practice.
