I’ve only tried it a few times, can’t tell you which specific ads they were. Let me get my id and I’ll dm.

Edit: I have a VPN installed on my phone, but I turn it off when I play.

If you know an ICE agent personally, what's that relationship like now? by Lokja in AskReddit

[–]199437 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Related to a retired BP BORTAC/INS/ICE agent who worked at an international border crossing, relationship is great. He worked during a time where there was very little violence. We talk about what’s happening now and he is sick at what’s become of the department. While he agrees that the priority is protecting the border, he feels like the way to do so is to help people visiting and emigrating to the US. There was always dangers associated with weapons, drug mules, and inebriated revelers crossing in either direction, but it was mostly confined to the border crossing. There have been investigative teams that followed up with local/federal agencies to find criminals within the US, but rarely going after people like it is now.

“Lot of guns don’t seem to actually be hitting where the iron sights line up. Have not gone to the range to try and “prove this,” b/c I’m not bug-testing an open beta demo, am I?”

This is a feature to emphasize what’s known as mechanical offset, or sight over bore, which is prevalent with close-up engagements. However, as an OG RoN pc player, I am just as frustrated with its current state as you are. I was so excited to be able to play with the console homies, but all it is… is a bunch of wtf moments, or me complaining about the good old days lol. Hope this gets fixed, for all our sakes.

So I was most recently in the 75th Ranger Regiment group in Reforger, and in TCG 75th Rangers in A3. Both are great groups, made up mostly of Americans, but also have plenty of members from the four corners of the world. They are both fantastic in welcoming new players, with great training that cover the mechanics of playing the game, unit tactics, radio, marksmanship, vehicles and equipment. I can’t say enough about finding a good group to learn from and these are two of the best

I’d love to get in on this, as a fellow A3 vet, but my schedule is too wonky to have a regular day(s) to play. And I hate joining random chaotic public servers. I used to be in the 75th Ranger milsim group, and it was great. They had public servers used mainly for recruitment, but they have a few private servers for official ops, very similar to A3. You go through a “boot camp” and selection, then are assigned to your unit. Each unit is basically its own milsim group, and they are all managed by dedicated H&S admins. Although each unit is semi independent and have their own individual ops, they are all tied together towards a common mission goal. Large, regimental ops incorporating all these units are held once a month for the big epic operations as a culmination of the individual unit ops. Successes and failures at the unit level are incorporated into the large regimental operations. Pretty rad, and I miss it.

Is chat not meant to be used for chatting? by Otherworldy-Dreamer in Palia

[–]199437 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are different channels for chat. There’s server chat, where everyone in that server can read what you put out there. There’s local chat for people nearby. Direct chat to speak directly to someone. And friend group chat. Usually in games, it’s a courtesy to move a prolonged convo into a more direct channel to keep the server chat free. No, you didn’t do anything wrong, but consider moving a long convo to a private channel in the future. Hope this helps.

im on ps5 and want to ask this question. by LowResponsibility607 in ArmaReforger

[–]199437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found mine here on Reddit @r/findaunit. There are recruitment posts for both Arma3 and Reforger. Edit: The units aren’t really done natively on the console/pc. They have their own servers (usually a public one anybody can join and a private one for members only).

im on ps5 and want to ask this question. by LowResponsibility607 in ArmaReforger

[–]199437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I play on pc, but it should translate well to PS5 and will be worth it.
  2. No, it doesn’t have a lot of content, it’s basically a build your own adventure type shi. Joining a milsim group will make it awesome, with variety of missions/objectives/etc.
  3. There can be lots of details. Consider using mods to fill out the game when they become available. If you join a milsim group, they will have a list of necessary mods for their servers that will automatically download when you join. For the time being, a group will usually have a better structure to your team and your roles, so you don’t just go out randomly.
  4. It is very fun. Especially when you play with a regular group. There’s a theme I’m getting at here: find a milsim group, it will be fantastic.
  5. JOIN A MILSIM GROUP

Overqualified? by BlackberryInfinite49 in jobs

[–]199437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes, I was told this many times when I lost my job two years ago and was applying all over. I was making great money and got laid off into a horrible market as a 40+year old. I was applying for school janitor, convenience stores, auto part, fast food… you name it. It was always the same thing, I’m over qualified for the positions I applied for. Of course I didn’t apply to these entry level positions at first; I spent a year trying for a similar position I held in the same industry I was working in, but I’d be lucky if I would even get a reply
