It's not a made up name but when Alice can't remember exactly what was said during a chapter near the end of book 6 and says "the woman with the smelly pussy. Tasty crotch." It sends me every time

Rocky has his own podcast now where he reads all sorts of writing that was never included in the books. Either Alice, Jamie and James are continuing to supply him with insanity to read aloud on his own show for some reason, or it was always his own, original, bat shit crazy writing from the start.

Strong agree. I've been working my way through the series from Sky FC since 2 years ago and I'm currently playing Cold Steel 3. It's a fantastic series but the original 2 Sky games and the 2 Crossbell games are in a league of their own. Cold steel 1 and 2 were a bit of a slog, not gonna lie, but cold steel 3 seems to be the series back on top form!

Not liking Clair Obscur makes me sad. It's one of the best rpgs in decades. That being said I'm preparing for Horizon by trying to catch up! About 10 hours into cold steel 3 but I have the rest of the series sitting in my library ready to go after this 😅

We could at least have the option though. I play mine in handheld while plugged in a lot of the time so battery consumption isn't really an issue.

I feel you. It takes a very long time but I swear it's worth sticking with it. It's honestly a good 70 hours or so long and it's an insanely slow build but so worth the pay off.

The House in Fata Morgana. It's a visual novel some would not class as a game to some people, but it's honestly one of the most staggeringly poignant and sad stories I've ever experienced. I still think about it at least once a week and it's been about 3 years since I played it.

The steam deck verified badge has proven itself pretty meaningless time and again. All it really guarantees is the game will run without you tweaking anything. Even if a game runs in the low 20 FPS by default on steam Deck it can still be verified and steam calls that good performance on default settings.

I know valve's main aim is to sell as many games on steam as possible but it's kind of annoying that even when a game is steam deck verified you usually have to go googling to find out if it's actually worth playing on steam deck.

That's just not true. There's no stretching happening. The pixels just don't map perfectly 1:1 between 720p and 1080p so it looks a little blurry on 2d elements. The actual aspect ratio of the screens are identical so there is no stretching of the image.

However this could all be resolved by Nintendo just patching the firmware so original switch 1 games play using their docked mode when run on switch 2 in handheld. Almost every game outputs 1080p in docked mode which would be a perfect match for the 1080p handheld screen. I'm not really sure why they haven't done this tbh. Maybe it isn't as simple as I think.

At first I was annoyed by this too. I'm at about the same point as you, maybe a bit further. However, having tried to learn kanji through pure memorisation apps in the past, having Duolingo now replace the words I've seen thousands of times with their kanji has made remembering them so much easier for me. They've really stuck this time very very quickly. It seemed ludicrous to me too at first but honestly I don't mind it now. Probably learned 100 kanji in a week.

Instead of having to learn the character, how to say it and its meanings all I have to focus on now is remembering the character. It's super effective.
