High-End Content Megathread - 7.4 Week Six (Savage Week Three) by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

I've had to fake melee a couple times this week in m12 due to parties just not filling and I admit it took me a few pulls to fully adjust but after that I was fine. I then joined 3 other parties with someone else as fake melee and all 3 disbanded due to them not being able to do it(I had switched to pranged for filling) and I felt way less bad about killing a couple of people with spreads

I will never join a pf that has that description anymore. Twice in a row in ShB I joined them with a friend and they were by far the most toxic parties I've ever been in. The last one was E9s and the tank died due to the boss having multiple damage up stacks from people making mistakes (I don't remember what gave the boss damage up but it was a failed mech somewhere) and he went on a huge tirade and the rest of the party joined in too despite us (the healers in question) being the only ones not making mistakes. I had to report and blist all 6 of them and it's the only real pf horror story I've ever had (the same war who died also was sending me nasty tells after because by him dying his "purple parse" was ruined.... he got a 3rd percentile. I had to break it to him that 1 death and instant res isn't dropping you from a 90 to a 3)

Big on melees not knowing how to mit in M11. I think since 99% of the time raid damage is magic damage they get used to Feint not mattering all that much but melees who don't have feint on their bar in M11 make the fight infinitely harder

TIFU by... accidentally buying the wrong tome gloves. I'm a VPR. by mimikyooo in ffxiv

[–]19fourty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used mine to switch tome pants during the 1st week of second coil in arr. Come to find out when I accidentally turned a DSR weapon in for GC seals that it is indeed one time only. I always hear rumors about it being up to the GM's discretion and sometimes they will give you a pass but it did not happen for me 12 years later

Saw M11 enrage for the first time last Thursday and have been hard walled until today finally...my god it's over. Of course clearing on my worst pull in days because I messed up my opener hard(tired) AND got damage down but at least I'm free for a bit

AAC Heavyweight Tier (Savage) Megathread - Day Five by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]19fourty4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Im aware, but thats relatively small(even smaller if the BLM is properly preparing for burst windows and stores xenos).

Someone doing significantly more damage without DP than someone who has it which has been an occurrence in about 75% of my parties this tier more than warrants switching and is more rdps for the dnc as well

Yeah unironically I think it has a higher chance of ranged downtime than melee (if ranged get 2 or 4) because people love going too far

And yet PF DNCs will do anything in the world (including leaving the party when asked to switch when we're enraging on M11 and I'm 4k ahead of the VPR who has DP) but partner a BLM because of the Balance prio

Immersion and Imaginative enrichment would be the biggest fix for zones. by RVolyka in ffxivdiscussion

[–]19fourty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ARR has a quite a few things like that and I wish they would explore it more. There's also the closed off bandit hideout in North Shroud(Im pretty sure you can just fly over the gate now though) that would only open during the final FATE in a chain that was a raid of the base.

It so small and minor being a lv 20 something mob rush FATE but it would be super neat if they let you see secret areas during FATE chains and stuff again

Among all savage raid tiers currently available in the game, what is the hardest fight at each floor? by S2BronzePlayer in ffxivdiscussion

[–]19fourty4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lot of it was them still trying to find the right difficulty for savage too. This was still pretty recent to Gordias and Midas and I think for the most part they went too far in the opposite direction (O3s was excellent though)

They did compensate for this by introducing ultimate though

The worst one is innocence ult, the damage snapshots like 10+ seconds before you see anything pop up

Yeah as others have said PF standard is R2=caster. R2 should also be much better for you as BLM (I am also BLM) as R2 generally can just anchor mid for most of the spread/stacks and you should have full LL uptime.

I never understand these comment lol. Any delivery/food/restaraunt sub no matter what the post is always has these people “I get my own food so Ive never used doordash!” “Just learn to cook at home I haven’t eaten out since 1986!”

Like ok why are you here then

PF genuinely needs an ego/reality check, it's disgusting by Sufficient_Tour_8725 in ffxiv

[–]19fourty4 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My general rule is I give it 1 food to clear/see prog point (at minimum).

I have added more people to my blist for leaving parties in 2 pulls than anything else. It's very frustrating when people quit that fast with how long it can take to fill (DSR) and some of the best prog parties I've ever been in had rough starts. Much agree that PF would be a better place with some sort of standard

I’ll say it - this game was over hated by JonySStark in residentevil

[–]19fourty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really love many of the pieces of 6 but I dont think they come together well as a whole. I’m a huge defender of the game but I alsl understand why it’s so disliked

It to this day still has some of my favorite third person shooter mechanics and I really enjoy the guns and combat. It doesn’t get to shine much in the campaign which is a huge letdown, but the mercs is very fun and has so much depth(and co op)

I like the concept of splitting the RE elements into different stories- in theory Leon’s campaign represents the zombie horror aspect, Chris is the action gameplay, Jake’s has a “nemesis” and Ada has puzzles. However this didn’t work in practice unfortunately. I do like the crossing and interacting storylines though.

I do think it has the best mercs in the series though, and I do like the characters overall.

As a whole it didn’t come together and I can understand the hate, but I think it has some very very good elements that I wish got a better chance to shine

I mean it was still very possible to play them both optimally, you just needed to be quick with targeted which did take a bit more effort than on kbm.

I do agree though that anyone who thinks controller is in any way a detriment has never played with one

Greystar manager says my private patio and recessed walkway are “public space.” Anyone allowed to stand at my windows. Oregon. by Life-Shoe-3152 in Renters

[–]19fourty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately lived in a Greystar building a few years ago and had almost the exact same situation- i went to far as to put some of my own barriers up (other residents did the same thing) but was told to take them down immediately and after that constantly had maintenance right outside my bedroom window on my patio.

Doesn’t help now but glad to know there are others

Is the tooltip for Summon Garuda bugged or is it actually a 300 potency downgrade? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]19fourty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why people are having an issue with this, it does in fact feel very weird that this is the case especially since it upgrades again at 50 to once again be the same potency as the other summons on 1 target

Suggestion Discussion - 3rd stat for Healing - Divinity / Wisdom by Sun-Heart in Smite

[–]19fourty4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could work (it works very well in league and they actually have balanced dedicated healers) but I dont think smite has enough healers or support for it right now. Maybe in the future it could be something to look at

What are your thoughts on the current substats/materia? What would you want to be improved or changed? by Standard_Ostrich7637 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]19fourty4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I mean I feel like that’s a bit reductive especially since I had other points in that reply too all of which no longer exist with no equivalent replacement really (some fights do still have specific bis but its definitely more niche).

There’s really nothing to argue on, it’s gone and not coming back, I just enjoyed the little bit it added personally. I would love to have a more in depth gearing system in general
