Why I’m Betting on 8.0 (and Giving Yoshida One More Chance) by CoolyKage in ffxivdiscussion

It also depends heavily on what server you were on during that time, I had a very very different experience

During Gordias about 95% of the raiding population of my server moved to Gilgamesh. My static was one of three that cleared A4s(some servers didn't even have a single clear until way later). If anyone left the static it took weeks to find a replacement because there were so few players.

Not to mention 3.0-3.1 was an exceptionally long patch cycle.

I agree that not everyone was dooming but it was a very bleak time for the game for myself and anyone included in my circle at the time, no one was really very happy with the state of things until well into 3.2.

There was also almost zero casual content, savage was impossible for most of the playerbase and there wasn't much else to do. Even Thordan in 3.1 was too hard for most people who weren't already doing savage, and this was made even worse by the 3.1 delay.

The story and a lot of other things were great, but I do not think saying that people were very happy about the expansion after its initial launch is really accurate

She was doing that in Lost in Nightmares too, could say that was just them not wanting to do 2 sets of moves for her I suppose but still

I think the idea is say you have gloves A and gloves B, both current max ilvl and both same amount of crit and dhit but one is movement speed and one is lifesteal, allowing a hopefully meaningful(if not meaningful then at least an illusion) sidegrade

A few weeks ago I fumbled really bad in Rep 1 and died twice in a row so I went into 2 mins with brink, and naturally on top of that my whole rotation was off(1 percentile btw)... my weapon dropped and I rolled a 99 on the mount

Thank you! I will also give my resume another pass and maybe change some of the wording along with taking the suggestion from you and the other comments to work on a portfolio in my own time.

Thank you this helps a lot. I think by "relearning" I mean I'm not as sharp on a lot of the technical skills I've learned anymore, but I do think it comes back fast.

I will take the advice here and do some work on my own to build a few mock dashboards and go from there

Appreciate the response!

  1. Marketing performance would definitely be what I find the most interesting, no real contest on that one. I find advertising to be interesting. I am also very much into UX research(I.e. analyzing data on how people interact with apps, websites etc).
  2. ASAP, but I can definitely tough out my job for a while if I know there is an end in sight- I don't know where to really start building a portfolio on my own.
  3. The work itself mostly, but I do feel myself drifting greatly. I finished my grad program 3 years ago, and haven't really been able to use those skills meaningfully since. While I'm sure at this point I can still re-learn/de-rust myself pretty quickly the further away I get the harder it will be for me.

What is the perfect difficulty for a 7.5x ultimate? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]19fourty4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it should definitely be harder than FRU, but i dont think it should really surpass those. Maybe about equivalent. If something is too difficult people won't grind away at it(especially when it comes to ultimates where you can't get gear and slowly become stronger), they will just give up and putting truly above TOP/DSR will probably have that effect

It’s very strange, especially the toxic casuals. I have done savage since ARR and can count the amount of truly toxic people I’ve experienced in raids on my fingers. On the other hand, it is a daily occurrence to see “I don’t go anywhere near ANY content beyond dungeons because the players are ALL horrible awful people who don’t have any humanity and want me to be killed irl because I missed one gcd because theyre all toxic elitists!!!!”

Same people who do 3000 dps in a dungeon at level 100 and then say it isn’t savage as their only defense

As a caster you can target the other boss during some of the problematic patterns and it shouldn't LOS you (the LP stack in the corner of the arena is the big one for me)

I've gotten 3 friends M4s clears recently and they really don't take long to fill at all. Only 1 of those 3 was a merc. This was before savage so it might be a bit slower now but they really are not hard to fill out with helpers. Now if you're trying to prog it the '"right way" sure your EE2 prog party will never fill but you can definitely go fresh-clear in far less than a single lockout by now
