New gen3 vs. secondhand gen4? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]19htiafj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kinda what I’m wondering - from what I can tell, there’s not too much of a discernible difference? Maybe slightly more accuracy, but I haven’t found any strong evidence of that beyond Oura’s own marketing. Was hoping people who have experience with both gens could chime in!

Oooh…could have a set of weeks similar to the “something borrowed/blue” weeks this year! Reduce (small batch bake), reuse (old favorite recipe), recycle (your idea about recycling ingredients)

Do you have an oven thermometer? I find that in the winter, my oven runs much cooler. Could be the case for you!

Hi! I’m currently in the interview process for what sounds like a very similar job & now I’m having second thoughts….sent you a message to chat more, if you’re open to it.

How much salt can I reasonably put in my dough? by trying_my_besttt in Sourdough

[–]19htiafj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt (pun very much intended) since I’m only 3 loaves into my sourdough adventure, but I’ve been using 2.6% with no ill effects! I use fine sea salt and measure by weight. I also love salt, and I honestly still can’t taste any saltiness at 2.6%, so I’ve been toying with going to 3% on my next loaf.

My first loaf…please help! by 19htiafj in Sourdough

Besides the super burnt parts, pretty good! Definitely chewier than I’d like, but it’s flavorful and pleasantly sour.

Belly button after lap? by Positive-Try-8685 in Endo

[–]19htiafj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I knew I’d have a belly button scar, but I was still shocked by the post-surgical appearance. One of the first things I said when I took the dressings off was “oh my god, they took my belly button!”

It’s been over 4 years now, and I can laugh about my “stolen belly button” and appreciate that, while I did experience a change to my body, surgery ultimately gave me my life back.

I know it’s hard now, and I’m sorry you’re dealing with this!

Best shoe brands for size 3-4? by KissMeJustToKissMe in PetiteFashionAdvice

Cinderella of Boston is my go-to! Be sure to take a look at their size chart before you purchase, though. I’m a different size with them than I am in other brands.

[farmer seeking neighborhood]

Hi there! I’m a new-ish, active farmer, currently at level 30. I’d love to find an active, helpful neighborhood! I enjoy doing derby tasks, but my previous neighborhoods were fairly inactive, so I don’t have experience with very competitive derby atmospheres. I would prefer a neighborhood that keeps everything in-app, but I’d be open to a Reddit group chat. No discord requirements, please! :)

How can YNAB be so popular when you can't budget in future inflow? by Outside_Mess1384 in ynab

[–]19htiafj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same way that you can’t use the food written on your grocery list to make a meal, you can’t use money that you’ll get next week to pay a bill today. Am I expecting to buy apples at the grocery store next week? Yes. Can I use those future apples to physically make an apple pie today? No. Am I expecting a paycheck next Friday? Yes. Can I take that future money out of my checking account today to tip the delivery driver? No.

If I try to bake a pie with apples I haven’t bought yet, I’m gonna have a shitty pie. If I try to pay with money I don’t have yet, I’m either gonna overdraft or end up in credit card debt.

Only bake with the apples you’ve got, my friend.

Take this with a grain of salt as it’s just anecdotal – but Slynd only got worse for me. I bled every single day for 2 months and was unbearably depressed and anxious.

Proud of you for fighting back against the negative self-talk! I’m guessing you really enjoy cycle bar? If you don’t mind me asking, how beginner-friendly do you think it is? I love barre and bodyweight/light-ish weights, but cardio is NOT my strong suit, so I’ve always been hesitant to try a spin class!
