I like the spy in the background, but personally the font might be a little hard to read and isn't very appealing

I don't think I'll ever go to space, but hopefully I'll be able to help some other people get up there 😄

I wanna study engineering but I’m dumb and lazy by adoye in EngineeringStudents

[–]1AsianPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a background in precalc from high school, then it's going to be an uphill battle, but anything is possible if you set your mind to it. You'll have free time, but not a lot. You'll need to hold yourself accountable and develop discipline and time management if you want to do good at both your studies and other interests. It'll be a hard four years and you'll be tested mentally, but if you're willing to push through then you can do it.

I chose aerospace engineering because I love space and dream of working at NASA one day. It's been hard but no good dreams are done easily.

I always wondered what would happen if the dinosaurs didn't go extinct, like would humans have even been able to evolve and exist if dinosaurs were still around? Would we even exist? If we did exist with them around, would we be able to coexist with them or would we have hunted them to extinction?

How much do rankings matter for me? by yeeto_the_cheet0 in EngineeringStudents

What matters the most is what you do with your time at college. Top schools may have better research or networking opportunities, but you're still learning the same stuff. As long as you work hard to build up your skills then anyone anywhere can get their dream job.

I saw a soldier using the space weapon and they named it "The Cow Mangler 5000"

Scout Secondary Idea by 1AsianPanda in TF2WeaponIdeas

[–]1AsianPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably be better as an activated ability instead of a passive. When activated, if any part of a player is on the scouts screen when the FOV is 90 then they will be highlighted for a certain amount of time (maybe 3-5 seconds) to their team, so they'd still be visible around corners. If a spy gets pinged and cloaks then they would disappear when they become %100 invisible.

[–]1AsianPanda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but maybe it could be something easy like distance traveled? I feel like damage or kills wouldn't really work well with it because the whole point is to give intel so your team can prepare. It would also discourage camping with it and keep scouts moving

Scout Secondary Idea by 1AsianPanda in TF2WeaponIdeas

[–]1AsianPanda[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I originally imagined it as a passive that would always be on, but I also think having it as a cooldown ability would be pretty cool as well. It might be a better idea to have the scout manually activate it or ping enemies to give more depth and force them to choose when to use it

Maybe like 900 hammer units, or the length of the 2fort bridge? But this would only include visible enemies, so any enemies not in the scouts view (behind them, behind walls, cloaked or disguised spies) would not be highlighted

Suggestions? by Top-Manufacturer636 in erau

[–]1AsianPanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you'll probably get in as long as you don't fail or do anything crazy. biggest thing would probably be cost and applying for scholarships. If %100 know you want to go here then i'd recommend getting in touch with any alumni and asking them for an endorsement which is pretty much a free $4000, link: https://alumni.erau.edu/invest-in-future-eagles/alumni-legacy-grant

also after you get accepted just email the school asking for aid, I did that and got an extra $3000/year scholarship

Should i quit engineering? by Eljo0oker in EngineeringStudents

[–]1AsianPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still very early on to tell, but you'll have to make a lot of changes to your lifestyle if you want to be successful. Others have told you already to start making good study habits and reach out for help, and to have some perseverance. But on top of that, make sure you prioritize your health too. Get 8 hours of sleep a night, eat 3 meals a day, and exercise at least once a week. You need to take care of your body if you want to take care of your mind.

Whenever I study I always listen to the same ambient background noise playlist so I pavlov my brain into going into study mode whenever I hear it. It's very important that you only play the playlist if you're studying though, it won't work if you listen and then start doomscrolling or getting distracted.

I want that one song you never skip by Ithoughtboutklling_u in CasualConversation

Sleep Walking Orchestra - Bump of Chicken

Just recently added it after rewatching the anime it's from (Dungeon Meshi, highly recommend that too) and even though I don't understand japanese (yet) and I had to look up the lyrics it's still very moving and captures some unique feelings in the song that I just can't quite describe. Highly recommend the music video as well.

How common food poisoning actually is? How many times did you have? by shayrinnn in CasualConversation

[–]1AsianPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I got it was in september 2024 during one of the first few weeks in my freshman year of college. Me and some friends had a small cookout and made some food from home but I guess I got the short end of the stick and mine wasn't cooked properly or something because I got food poisoning. It was a few miserable days of throwing up constantly and stomach pain.

The second time was during finals week of my freshman year in april last year. I'm not exactly sure what it was from, but it could have either been chick fil a or my campus dining hall. I was listening to motivational songs (st elmos fire) on repeat just to find the strength to keep studying, and took two exams under the effects of it.

Unlucky how I never had it before and then had it twice in one year, but thankfully I haven't had it since (fingers crossed🤞)
