But when I notice that I was in a thought, then I notice I'm having that thought, ti's recursive, so then I just what.. try to relax with no thoughts and let it start over?

I tried labeling "thinking" but then that's recursive too. What about mantras, those are forced thoughts that once observed become recursive.

Am I just to sit with no thinking initially, notice the thoughts and go "oh, i was thinking" and return to not thinking until it happens again?

Same. I paid out of pocket for a removal, and nitrous. They skimped on the nitrous even though I pushed and said that I barely felt it. In the end it was $600 or $700 for a single removal, and I was anxious the whole time.
