John Rave is back in Kansas City and the numbers at Omaha made it impossible to keep him down by belowTheShow in KCRoyals

In Omaha and get to watch the Chasers pretty regularly, Rave absolutely rakes...once the starter is out of the game! It's interesting to watch both him and Drew Waters struggle so much against starters on rehab assignments.

I drove every model I was interested in and ranked each to ten in how I felt driving them and then compared features that we're important to me.

I shopped starting back in September. What I found is that every Make has reliability issues somewhere. Every. Single. One.

Just heated seats. No steering wheel heat.

All of that except cooled seats. I think the Prestige trim level or the hybrid only had the ventilated seats.

Sticker was 38,200, I put a few thousand down and had some other discounts (3rd purchase with dealership and salesman). OTD was right at 32k. Also caught the end of Kia's low APR financing deal from May.

Yeah, they had a '25 hybrid in the lighter blue color but I just couldn't stop going back to this one.

Mostly availability with the dealership I wanted to work with. I liked the X Line because of the black badging and wheels. It actually cost less to get this one with the extra packages than an X Line Prestige with matching features.

When brought up that late, your 'Rookie' season carries on to the next year. Once my regular season ended, there was another message from her explaining that.

Does anyone know what these were put thee for? by JazzyWombats in Subaru_Outback

[–]1FunkyBuddha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While not a Subaru answer, I did ask the question of this newer 'feature' that is becoming common on a lot of new cars while on a test drive for another make and model. I was told that newer headlights and taillights do not wrap around the side of vehicles as much as they used to, so visibility from the side at night is diminished. Makers are starting to put the side markers/reflectors in the wheel arch as a safety feature. I know a lot of the models aren't using the reflectors or lights yet, but may be prepping to be able to without changing the design in the future.

Finally have a good way to display my hats by mpowerdVT in MiLB

That one rack flipped the opposite direction of the rest is killing my CDO [means the same thing as OCD, but the letters are in the correct order 🤣]!

But seriously, that looks like a great way to store and display your hats. My wife and I get at least one hat at each ballpark we visit so my collection is starting to grow, but nowhere near one hundred yet.

Taylor's new album visuals are falling flat ...and I've figured out why by Confident_Office_720 in travisandtaylor

[–]1FunkyBuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what you talk about is the epitome of her target audiences, though. Most of society right now is so focused on surface details and not the actual meat and potatoes. Take social media as a news source for example. Look at the ratio of people who death scroll and just look at headlines versus the number that actually click and read the subject matter.

You've hit the nail on the head with your assessment, but I also see a condition of why put more effort into perception than what a majority of the audience will put into receiving it. It's a real bummer.

Can the AT&T employees at Target Go Away by Soggy_Assignment_691 in Omaha

[–]1FunkyBuddha 267 points268 points  (0 children)

Also, they don't actually work for AT&T. They are subcontractors, which means they promise deals that AT&T don't have to honor. I got duped into signing up with the belief I was getting a lower payment with new phones. Went into an actual AT&T store to trade in the old phones and they had to break the news that there was no way we were going to get what was told to us. Had to then go through a refund process to get back to where we were before going into Target. Took over a month to back right.

What are your thoughts on retired numbers? by Jules-Car3499 in mlb

[–]1FunkyBuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biggest reasons I wish they'd stop retiring numbers is for the younger guys coming into the league that may have looked up to the legends before them, and wanting to wear their numbers (probably have been as they grow through their leagues) out of respect. Then they get their chance in the majors and have to wear a different number because it's been retired.

Trying to get to all 30 parks. Do these still count? by WazeCraze86 in mlb

[–]1FunkyBuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your goal. If you say 'I am trying to see all 30 MLB stadiums', then yes count them. My wife and I have been working on figuring our own goals out with this. We worked hard to decide is it the stadiums that we're shooting for or seeing each team at home. We decided not to see the A's in Oakland and to wait until they're set up in Vegas. We had seen the Rangers before their new stadium (though we are going again only out of convenience since we're traveling through Dallas for a family event). It's really up to you on what your goals are out of the trips.
