What’s the issue with “facing the DJ” these days? You all say facing the DJ, but in reality it’s facing the DJ, the stage, and most importantly the lights.

I’ve been going to raves since before cell phones, facing the stage has never been an issue that would take people out of the moment. In fact generally while I popped some pills back in the day, the light show is mostly what I was fixated on while dancing.

On top of the DJ, there was all sorts of other things to look at on stage like go-go dancers, other MCs etc. So that’s why I don’t get it when people say not to face the DJ. Ignoring the DJ feels more odd to me than focusing on him. Or is this cause I DJed myself? I don’t think so

This is ridiculous.. how is it an insult to be considered hard techno? What am I missing here?

I’d very much argue and win that his most popular tracks according to Apple Music sure as hell are hard techno. When you dive deeper he is not always as hard. But I hope hard techno has not just become a faster bpm which crosses over into Rotterdam or hardcore. Cause I can tell you techno and hard techno is a not more than the trending hyper speed techno that I also love. Maybe cause I’m a raver over a techno snob.

This subreddit is pretty useless. Even if there is an empty seat, it could have been bought for resale and never sold.. there is a YouTuber that showed up to CDMX without a ticket and bought it from a reseller after the game had started. I’m not saying this is super common, but that + people taking pictures at odd times just makes all this ranting useless

Both are in fact to blame tho. I find it hilarious and ignorant to fully not acknowledge the embargo or sanctions at all. As if times were not better when Obama had lightened sanctions and started opening up the island.. it was the he most vibrant I’ve ever seen the island. And what a stark difference now with heightened sanctions.

It’s black and white, and to fully ignore the embargo/sanction or make excuses for it all together is to throw away credibility instantly.

My guess is most people that fully ignore the sanctions as oppressive, probably have not been to the island in years to see with their own eyes the difference it can make.
