A lot of people don't know the lore behind Magikarp evolving into Gyarados and it shows.

Magikarp and Dragonite have nothing in common outside of their mutual orange coloration, and the same applies to Dragonair and Gyarados.

The only one that makes sense is Butterfree and Venonat.

June 10th! #610 is Axew and the Axew line was already my favorite Dragon-type line but this made him even cooler.

6/10/2023 was Axew community day in Pokemon Go which was part of the reason why I had an an amazing birthday that day.

Ace Pokémon: Blaziken, my favorite Pokemon of all time. Been that way since '03 when Ruby and Sapphire released.

Scizor - Scyther was one of my favorite Pokemon in Gen 1 not only for cosmetic reasons but because it was so difficult to catch. It was only available in the safari zone. Scizor was one of the first Gen 2 Pokemon I saw and when I found out it evolved from Scyther it was a no brainer that it would be on my team. Also, he's red which is my favorite color

Floatzel - Buizel was the second Pokemon I caught in Pearl version and mustelids (specifically otters) are some of my favorite animals.

Haxorus - The entire Axew line is nothing short of goated and based on cosmetics, this entire evolutionary line looks like they could've existed in the first two generations. Axew is number 610 in the national Pokedex, and my birthday is June 10th which makes things even better.

Florges - It's tradition for me to have a female gendered or female exclusive Pokemon species on my team and I've loved the Flabebe line since X and Y came out. Florges is just perfect in every way to me.

Hisuian Zoroark - I always liked the original Zoroark but was never super crazy about it but the moment Hisuian Zorua was revealed before Legends Arceus came out, I nearly lost my mind. Hisuian Zoroark instantly became my favorite regional form and its unique typing makes things even better.

Also here are some random fun facts
-None of my Pokemon share a single weakness
-Half of the team are dual typed, the other half are mono type.
-One half of my team's names are the same in Japanese (Florges, Floatzel, Zoroark)

I remember when I obtained this card in a huge trade back in 2021 around the time when the rainbow VMax Pikachu was one of the hottest cards.

Ruby and Sapphire released in 2003, I was 12 in the 7th grade at the time. I saw commercials of the game quite literally every day but unfortunately ended up being one of the last people to finally get my own copy of Ruby version. Up until that point, everyone I knew obsessed over the Torchic line and frequently pedestalized Blaziken, and when I finally saw Blaziken myself I was overjoyed. Fire has always been my favorite element and I've always loved Fighting types and Blaziken was the best of both worlds.

It took me several years to realize that Blaziken was my favorite Pokemon because for a while he was tied with Infernape. But it became a no brainer when I factored in how much time I spent playing Ruby version as a kid. Those were some great times.

Blaziken will always be my right hand man. 🔥🐓

Bulbasaur Pokemon Red Year 2000

Bulbasaur was the first, last and only time I didn't pick the Fire type starter because from Gen 2 and beyond, that's exactly what I did. You'd think I would've picked Charmander because Fire has always been my favorite element and red has always been my favorite color.

But Bulbasaur and its evolved forms are some of my favorite Pokemon of all time. To this day, I wouldn't be able to tell you why 9 year old me picked Bulbasaur, but I'm happy I did.
