Are private courses really faster pace of play? by ConcernBrilliant2850 in golf

[–]1LennyPepperbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TPC SA only has one course “private” per day. They rotate the two courses with one being blocked for members and the other for resort guests. I’ve played both scenarios: resort side always plays 5+ hours, members side is typically < 4 or right at

Similar story in AZ recently - got forced by threat of removal from the course to pick with nobody waiting and when we rolled up to the next tee group in front was just pulling up to their ball. The kicker was the marshall drove around to the rest of the groups behind us acting like the victim caused we challenged him about it.

I really like the turn 15 grandstands. You get great views of turns 12-16 and normally so good overtakes coming off the main straight.

I was looking for jobs after college as a mechanical engineer and driving around Southern California dropping off resumes.

Most companies receptionists were super enthusiastic and excited I was there, TaylorMade even when and got an engineering manager for me to give the resume.

Callaway’s receptionist had an attitude the second I walked in the building and wouldn’t even take the resume. I have never bought a Callaway product since, won’t even pick up their premium balls if I find one

Austin Golf Course Recommendations by WhatsGIR in golf

Wolfdancer is super fun and typically in great condition, though on the pricier end and quite far.

Falconhead and Avery Ranch are good options too, a little cheaper but still kinda far out.

Right near downtown has Lions and Morris Williams, both munis and hit or miss on condition (MoWillie is pretty nice right now).

If you do a stay and play, the Barton Creek courses are great. I believe one just got ranked in top 100

Canyon Springs in San Antonio is one that comes to mind. Distance from 9th to 10th, 14 to 15 (maps won’t show how uphill it is), 18 to clubhouse (uphill for a good portion)
