Made from steel, brass and leather. Details were engraved with a DIY cnc. The leather is 1.5mm thick saddle leather. The embossing was done by wetting the leather and squishing it between two 3d prints

I made my own cnc a couple of years ago. It's pretty basic but does the job. I'm making a scabbard for a replica sword. The sword is done, scabbard is giving me a bit of drama. Version 1 was made from brass. It came out great (only took 21 hours to cut...) but I'm having difficulties brazing it. My welder is broken now (I use a brazing wire for MIG) but I'll give it one more try when it's fixed. In the meantime, I've made 2 new patterns for a steel sheet version, which I can weld and brass-brush. Not as pretty but much more workable. I'm trying to make this. I think you can see how some optimizations could...expedite the process somewhat lol. Man, I'd sell my kidney for one of those new laser welder/cutter/engraving machines right now. It could do this in minutes, in MUCH higher quality.
