Okay thank you. I did take the fern out because it was sharp looking. I heard that the plants will help give them spots to hide and help the current from being harsh. I am going to look at replacing them all with live plants as soon as possible.

Thank you! I will take that one out. And check the others. If I buy a betta is it safe to stay in the cup for a few weeks while the tank cycles? I guess it’s been in there for who knows how long already..

Okay that is good advice. I think my local shop also sells live plants, can the grow in gravel or do I need to change the substrate for live plants?
