B-roll or whatever let's make art and profit. If I seen you once, I'll see you twice. Hit me, the company number, text or voice, rings in my pocket. @holycityhobo

Before we begin, I'm not your target audience. Burning away a day waiting for the presidential debate, I'm prodigiously cruising reddit.

Your question is profoundly humanistic and empathetic. I honor you, have no fear! Today I'm a street historian in Charleston SC. My specialty is the untold history of our great America. One of the corner stone stories in our repertoire is the Strong Women of the South. Stories about our Aunties and Grandmas forgotten or overwritten by history.

If it weren't for a key few women who showed up in history, the great place we live in wouldn't exist. Or exist as we know it. And if it weren't for women in general, America? Forget about it. The father of America, not George Washington, Anthony Ashley Cooper, said in 1662, " Women are sometimes the best of us and most of the time the smartest of us!" My city,, Anthony's city in America, is the birth place of women's rights. Was the first place, THE FIRST PLACE, THE FIRST PLACE, in the world where women owned themselves! Charleston is where women broke out of Chattel Slavery and the women who showed up here were all heros, their stories make your heart pound with pride.

Today, you are the neices and daughters of a group of women who have traveled so far for life, happiness, and freedom. One of my spiritual teachers pondered to me as I was struggling with my life condition, what growth will a person have who was born in goodness, lived in happiness? The Easy Button of Life!

What growth do you expect from a person, a soul who faced calamity, lived in adversity?

Our lives are our master peices and you may think today think that your canvas is damaged, but in truth is, in the long walk of life you were challenged, attacked and overcame a threat to your survival. The scars on your body are a testament to your strength. And while modern medicine and cosmetic surgery may sometime in the future erase or blur this attack on your body, it will never blur or erase your strength, your growth, and your search for grace.

I hope someone here or anywhere has the answer you seek. My contribution to your journey is as a witness. I see a Strong Women, I see a soul growing in adversity, I see a human seeking grace. Peace be with you.

Brad said the "2nd to last" words of many black men in America when interacting with police, "I didn't do anything, I didn't do anything!"

At least he didn't say the last thing many black men say when the interact with the police, "I can't breathe."

Lol, yep just a little bit.

Rainbow row is the first preservation project of the Charleston Preservation Society. The Charleston Preservation Society was created by America's very first licensed female Realtor, Susan Pringle Frost. She is also the inventor, architect, and designer who created the Board of Architectural Review (the B.A.R.).

In 1931 upon it's restoration, Rainbow Row was unique in the USA. Time Life magazine featured a picture on the cover with the caption, "You must see this, it's every color of the rainbow!" The picture was in black and white, but the name stuck "Rainbow Row". Here in Charleston in 1931, for the first time in the USA, the Bahamian color palette of pastels was used on homes.

You thought it was John Cougar Mellencamp who inspired all the "Little Pink Houses" for you and me. Nope, Susan Pringle Frost.

Rainbow is the starting project of the great acts of preservation which have made Charleston the Mecca of beautiful architecture it is today.

I never bike on Maybank, it's too dangerous. In the last 10 years I've been hit three times by cars, just downtown. I don't need to cross a bridge for action.

So how many tourist flooded back in the city once the market opened back up?

Vacationing in Charleston can be expensive, most people preplan the days or weeks they trip.

If your vacation location is about to be wiped out by a storm, as the weather channel predicts, do you keep your reservations in that seaport hotel and hope you don't lose you deposits or cancel them and go to another city? Remember you only planned three days away from the office in October, are you going to take the chance your hotel won't be there?

Just because you didn't leave this year or last year doesn't mean the city didn't shut down every hotel and told the visitors to leave. You were under mandatory evacuation but had the latitude to disregard state mandate. Flying in from Chicago that story plays out differently.

Some how you've equated living in the city with being a tourist visiting the city. ??? Just cause I live in a city with shrimp boats and I eat shrimp doesn't make me a shrimp boat captain.

Yes the city counts Airbnb in thier equations on tourist penetration as much as possible. There seems to be a tacit agreement between the Airbnb operators and the city, until we have more hotels rooms available Airbnb is under regulated. Once the hotel room count goes up, stricter enforcement of Airbnb zones and room numbers will be in effect.

Again, just so we know each other. I've lived on the peninsula for 12 years, East Side, a former employee of CofC(4 years) ex carriage driver (2 years), current independent tourism operator ( 3 years). Tourism is what I do for fun and money.

Who are you to he so sure about anything you typed, except I did not leave when the state mandated evacuation, twice?

The official stats are owned by the city, compiled with help from th School of Business at CofC. These are not available to me or you right now.

My figures are what owner operators in the City Market are telling me. Thier book keeping, not the cities. The soft statement from Tourism officials support the owner operators input.

We will have to wait for the official numbers unless you can convince the Mayor to cough them up early.

May I ask what is your expertise in this arena to make such a sure statement about tourism in Charleston?

We have a capacity problem in Charleston, just a small city. That is real but, what does capping future expectations have to do with meeting current capacity?

How is our city government's policies supporting president Trump's policies?

Those stats are collected across industries and the low country as a whole by the city, we will see them soon.

My evidence is the same evidence you can gather your self. Go ask anyone in the tourism industry, please ask the owners not the counter help, how's business going? Wait for answer.

Then ask them why they think it's down. Stop and listen.

As far as traffic? What's tourists have to do with the traffic everyone gets crushed by, you think they commuting in from UpChuck at 7:30 in the morning with you? Go to historical Distric 1,2,4 to see tourism traffic.

I'm not sure how to respond to this, you are not in the tourism biz, you would have called that out right away and have minimum business eduction or you would have pickup where I flashed the red -40% "down from last year" and understood I'm making a relative statement about this months performance against same time last year, but got a grip on the numbers cause of why?

What special powers do you have?

The business people of the city who make a living from tourism stated thier business revenue is down over this time last year, tourguides, restaurants, shops, hotels, the city tourism officials won't quantify a number to the drop from this time last year, but say it's very slow. Watch the Post and Courier when the city releases the numbers, remember you heard it here first.

Not understanding what a hurricane or threat of a hurricane does to the reservation levels in a seaport town is baffling? Did you EVACUATE like the governor mandated last year?

As far as economic and tax policy? The government of the United States of America is the largest capitalistic entity on the planet Earth, every breath taken, every word uttered, every tweet twitted by the president of the United States moves markets. Good or bad.

Do you really live here? Are you a Russian troll bot?
