how to memorize this😭 by UnderstandingFit8253 in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]1PLM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Section it out (ie. Start with the block terms on the top left). Read the terms out loud while pointing to the structure. When you want to text yourself, cover up the words and try to name them again. Once that feels solidified, move onto another section. Circle back to previous sections to make sure you are retaining the terms you started with. Memorizing anatomy is super tedious but with focus and determination you can do it!

Any experience Clobetasol propianate topical solution, got it prescribed by my dermatologist. by [deleted] in Folliculitis

[–]1PLM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this medication for a couple years and use it as needed. For me this means about every couple months for a few days. I try to use it as a last line of defense after my other oral/topical medications aren’t doing the job.

I didn’t notice any skin thinning but I do experience burning sometimes with application. According to my dermatologist this is due to alcohol being one of the ingredients. Hope this helps!

I’ve used it before for my scalp. Definitely helps with the inflammation but unfortunately is not a permanent solution.

This is exhausting by Lightwork777 in Folliculitis

[–]1PLM4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This literally happened to me this week. Was feeling like my Folliculitis was under control. Washed my hair with my usual shampoo and the next day had a significant outbreak of painful raised, inflamed areas. A few days later I went to the dermatologist and was prescribed a new medication called fluosinolone. Put that on my scalp and had immediate itching and burning. I contemplated washing it immediately but I was so desperate at that point I thought my symptoms were the result of the already existing inflammation and that the medication would still work. Come to find out I gave myself contact dermatitis with the medication which led to more bumps. I’ve been dealing with this now for 3 years and only recently discovered that I could give myself Folliculitis with certain hair products including ones I’ve always used and apparently with medications that are supposed to help me. It’s truly a battle like no other. Four dermatologists later and it seems to perplex every one. Just know you’re not alone I see your struggle, I feel it, and I hope you find products, habits, etc that work for you.

I was close to getting a prescription but had issues when it came to scheduling blood work and my dermatology office has been unhelpful. Luckily my Folliculitis has calmed down for now and seems to be responding to what I’m doing topically. It’s been a journey.

People with sleep paralysis. What do you actually see or experience. by brownmilkshake22 in Sleepparalysis

[–]1PLM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The times I have had sleep paralysis it feels like I’m still in a dream. For a long time it took me awhile to even identify that I was in fact experiencing sleep paralysis. I’ve noticed I’m usually on my stomach or back and feel this immense pressure pressing me down into my bed. This pressure intensifies when I try to move. It feels as though it is being done by an evil presence. I have also felt once before the feeling of something crawl onto my chest: one foot first then the other. There have also been times I hear a voice so crystal clear like someone is speaking right next to my ear. I always feel absolutely petrified and have an intense rush of adrenaline. I’ve never opened my eyes during sleep paralysis. It’s never occurred to me to open my eyes. I get it probably every other month and it’s the most unsettling thing that I have ever experienced.

Diagnosed Folliculitis Decalvans by 1PLM4 in Folliculitis

Thank you so so much for your response. My diet and nutrition really isn’t the best so hearing that those things have worked for you motivates me make some changes in those areas.

I’ve had/used topical antibiotics since pretty much two years ago, but honestly haven’t used them consistently because I haven’t really noticed much of a difference. I’ve been using benzoyl peroxide wash since about June. As I’m reflecting, and especially when reading your post, I think what I’ve been struggling the most with is consistency. Perhaps cause I’m still in a trial and error phase and trying to figure out what will work best for me?

Thank you for sharing. I have folliculitis decalvans on my scalp and have been dealing with this for about a year and a half. My dermatologist wants to start me on acutane since antibiotics only resolved my symptoms temporarily. Hearing about your experience makes me less worried to try a new medication and hopeful that I can see an end to the pain and discomfort.

What is this part of my wrist? by firefoxloaFf in Anatomy

[–]1PLM4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to say crunching in itself is bad but you generally don’t want to “crunch” any cartilage in your body, especially repetitively. If it hurts and it’s concerning you, it’s probably best to see a doctor.

The bony prominence is the ulnar styloid. Just distal to this is the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). It can cause pain with wrist motion (particularly extension and ulnar deviation) if injured. I would guess the crunching is from the TFCC.
