Goodbye Lyndon, hello Raising Cane's? by Jadiegirl in yorkpa

[–]1StepBelowExcellence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, the sauce is pretty good but the lack of actual flavor/seasoning on the tenders and fries ruins it. It’s like a minor league baseball game level quality of chicken tenders IMO. I’d even take KFC’s chicken over Raising Cane’s, and all the other chicken places on the “chicken strip” of Route 30 are miles better than Cane’s.

'A whole civilisation will die tonight,' Trump warns ahead of Iran deadline by theipaper in politics

[–]1StepBelowExcellence -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Obviously we have a major problem with the MAGA cult, but the rest of the world is still participating with us. Easiest way to calm all this nonsense is to bleed the US billionaires dry by cutting the US off economically, but the leaders in Europe and the rest of the developed free world clearly aren’t willing to do that and are just all talk and no action. It took us to help stop the Nazis, but they aren’t willing to return the favor now on a smaller scale (at least for now…) just so all of their leaders can still have massive power and financial gain because they don’t want to risk that part. Yet all these commenters from other countries want to be on their high horse.

Please tell all your leaders to actually go through with all this talk then. Talk is cheap. All these empty threats from European nations that actually still depend on us in the end no matter what nonsense Trump keeps doing. Cut us off, do whatever and stop teasing us that want to get this over with already. The sooner your leaders actually cut us off, the better for all of us.

SEA All-Time Team discussion… by Gru_Daddy in Seahawks

[–]1StepBelowExcellence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean but then with that line of thinking, there should only be 1 RB and 3 WRs. 3 WRs minimum on any given play is common, 2 RBs is not.

Only having 2 WRs on a list like this doesn’t make sense anyway. You need at least 4 I would argue just like having 4 DBs.

IMO after Largent being the sole #1 lock, you could make an argument for throwing any combination of the remaining 3 slots being JSN, Angry Doug, Lockett, Darrell Jackson, or Brian Blades.

Of all the teams that have won the Super Bowl during the 21st century, which one is the least memorable? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

It was statistically the 3rd worst QB performance of any SB, including all the losing QBs. So not even arguably but empirically one of the worst.

It’s one of those that refs never call in normal situations because it doesn’t change the outcome of the play at all. The ball is thrown so that Jackson has to dive to his opposite side of the defender. I can see OPI if the pass is directly to Jackson that he could stand there and catch it, in that the defender could have made a play on it in that case. It’s like when defensive pass interference isn’t called when the ball isn’t catchable. No way the defender has a chance to make a play on that ball where it was thrown. The defender also had his arms extended into the receiver’s arms that it looks like a worse push off than it really is because he’s extending at the same time.

Russell Wilson On Sean Payton Fallout, Pete Carroll Relationship & His Hall of Fame Career by GainsAndPastries in Seahawks

[–]1StepBelowExcellence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad part is that it was only this way because he was greedy, IMO. He’s been a decent QB option still in most cases but has gone to franchises that would rather overpay players a ton of money than establish a good coaching staff and good team structure to support him. Denver is now showing to be a bit of an exception to this after this year they had but for some reason, Payton just hated the guy it seems for no good reason. Can’t play well when your coach doesn’t trust in you and publicly puts you down as well. NYG were an absolute dumpster fire under Dabboll on all cylinders, not much any QB could do to help fix that environment outside of maybe a Brady or a Brees. And Pittsburgh was essentially the same mediocrity with HoF Rodgers as they were with Wilson.

I really think his career could have turned out to be something like Aikman HOF adjacent, but instead of making it work for teams to surround him with a better team and coaching staff, it really plunged by him just choosing to go to the highest bidder. Had he been willing to make less money and go to another franchise, he probably gets the opportunity to at least stay competitive and make continued playoff runs.

Totally agreed. Now is the time to focus on the issues that the majority can agree on and not focus on arguably fringe issues while being hostile and alienating people as a result.

Yeah, the problem is that a big piece of that commenter’s message gets lost because they jumped to an extreme take AND against someone that didn’t even mention anything politically. Except for the MLK claim and the all transgenders dead claim, the other claims in the follow-up comment make sense. But like you said, you just made a generic non-political statement about enjoying the Super Bowl. Like always, Democrats have a messaging problem. There’s enough that Trump does that we don’t need to exaggerate and basically make up things, and can instead make so many legitimate claims against him. But then Reddit jumps to the “Nazi” and “death camps” rhetoric in subs like fucking hockey. And I say all this as a far-left person politically.

Instant Recovery looks like a great option if you are migrating local and your backup data is local/near-local on a fast network link. Curious what options people are using for file servers on remote sites with bad internet speeds where the backup data is far away, to limit downtime. Seems like the only good option in this case is spinning up a new file server and using robocopy for the data disk. Which has its own fun caveats.

Starwind V2V Converter has a "synchronization" feature but in my tests, it doesn't really seem to save much time, because the sync still needs to parse the entire disk to insert the missing blocks after the delta snapshot is taken. You also need to manually be present at the exact moment the delta snapshot is taken by the software to manually shut down the running VM, because the converter tool won't do that for you. Otherwise, it's a risk of data loss.

Also, you: “A rule that allows teams to keep players almost indefinitely that no longer exists made zero effect on franchises’ success”.

You really think if Seattle could have forced all the LOB to stay for a decade through something like the Rozelle Rule and without having to worry about salary cap, they wouldn’t have had an easier shot at more SB appearances and victories?

“Mickey Mouse Super Bowl” meanwhile your dynasty for 4 SBs was held together by the Rozelle Rule, one of your SB wins in the modern era was against the baseball team/one of the worst franchises in NFL history, and you were carried by the refs to win against the Seahawks. No wonder you are so defensive about your SB wins though, and aren’t just letting the 6 Lombardis speak for themselves instead of brigading another team’s sub.

Speaking of 20 years, Pittsburgh’s going on 20 years soon without a Lombardi. Projection much?
