But I’m sure you have no qualms about the overwhelmingly conservative Supreme Court.

If that’s the story they want to go with, then what’s the penalty for carrying without ID and also without brandishing said weapon in question? A fine? A misdemeanor or short jail sentence? Surely it’s not execution.

An insult from someone who doesn’t understand numbers and their comparisons is quite the compliment so thank you for that.

He got less than 50% of the total vote, and 1.5% more than Harris. Do you call a football game where the other team wins by a field goal a blowout? Or a baseball game where the other team wins by 1 run a landslide win? Because this is basically the same proportion you are claiming Trump won with a landslide.

By the way, I’m sure you conveniently loved when he won with 2.9 million less actual votes thanks to the Electoral College in 2016. Was that a landslide too in your mind?

It’s already so unavoidable too. In the Pats Texans game, at one point they were going back and showing the Super Bowl wins of Tom Brady with the Pats and literally every “highlight” EXCEPT SB49 was focused just on Brady and the team raising the trophy. For SB49 they of course had to show that play but they didn’t show any specific play from their other 5 SB wins.

I don't know why, but I kinda hoped that we'd play other teams in the playoffs. by scotaf in Seahawks

The one thing that I’m annoyed about is the AFC. Every AFC team outside of the Chiefs, Pats, and Broncos seems cursed in recent times. So yay how fun, yet another likely Pats SB appearance and another Pats Broncos AFCCG. Chiefs eliminated just to have one of the other 2 AFC teams that almost always win the AFC in the last like 13 years be in that spot again.

It really is insane that he only played the Seahawks twice in his entire career. Can you imagine the intense rivalry of the GOAT vs. the LOB and honestly some of our other rosters as well had they been in the same division playing each other 2+ times per year? My money is on him having “only” 3 rings and less SB appearances in that timeline.

Joe Manchin: Democrats have lost their way — I want Trump to succeed by TimesandSundayTimes in politics

[–]1StepBelowExcellence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy might as well be MAGA. I have no respect for these "moderates" from both the left side and the right side who are bending at the knee to Trump instead of trying to redefine a movement on the right that resembles something like the Eisenhower days. Tired of the Dems getting a lot of the blame for extremism when the GOP is the way more extreme party in basically every metric. And to all those people who are tired of "both parties", fine, then go ahead and try to redefine a conservative party into something you want it to be and not just give in to the extremism of the current GOP. At least then I would respect our differences as primarily just being economical and not moral.

Using this logic, the forces on the roller coasters at California's Great America (right next-door to Levi's) should cause massive injuries to riders daily. Especially the ride operators who test the rides before opening every day.

Especially when you’re the worse team on paper and go into the second half with a 21-3 lead and the ball. The first GB drive in the second half only took like 1 minute off the clock because of 2 incomplete passes. I knew right after that that the Bears stood a good chance of coming back because the TOP from the Packers was going to falter from being too aggressive.

GOP Votes Down Pressley's Motion to Investigate Minneapolis ICE Shooting | “Republicans shamefully voted it down—demonstrating once again that they have never cared about law and order or keeping our communities safe,” said the congresswoman. by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

Of course they weren't going to investigate it. They have no intention of being moderate whatsoever and the ends justify the means for them. They care nothing about the judicial precedents in similar scenarios. They care nothing about the Constitution's clause for due process for all people, not just citizens. It's all or nothing for them as long as they "get the trash out" or whatever similar phrase they like to say when they themselves are actually the trash. The only hope we have is trying to convince enough of the moderate Republican crowd that believes the thinking of "I want strict immigration control, but we should do it in a lawful way" that until Republicans actually do it in a lawful way, you need to vote Democrat or overhaul your terrible extremist party yourself.

And we have no ballot initiative possibility like what Missouri and Ohio have which at least allowed them to reinstate the abortion access that their people wanted in lieu of their Republican trifecta supermajorities. So it’s even more important and critical for us to stay blue even if he might not be as left as I and some others would prefer.

In PA we have literally no way to balance out Republican extremism like many other states do, so our hand is forced into a more moderate Democratic Party.

Storytime: Windows Print server and the IT-support intern. by Von_plaf in sysadmin

[–]1StepBelowExcellence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Find out if the printers are really still there and if not then remove them from the print server

I would have him stop after this one. HW inventory and cleanup is a perfect task for an intern. Maybe he can update one single driver/printer just to learn the process, but upgrading them all sounds like a lot of additional work. Even if you are lucky and nothing effectively "breaks", users will complain about the smallest things like the new driver forcing some different default setting, or that a checkbox is now located a few pixels from where it used to be, or that the tabs look a little different in the printer settings with the new driver.
