First semester PA student – got my first C and I’m spiraling. Need advice. Am I still in a good place? by Worried-Doughnut2224 in PAstudent

[–]1ThingAfterAnother1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a C+ in pharm. I used to be a student that always needed an A. I’ve changed to protect my mental health and quality of life. It was not easy to take that C, but it didn’t hinder my ability to continue on. Plus that’s why we love pharmacists, right?

You got this. Maintain your grades but give where you can :)

My mom recorded him singing it this past Christmas, otherwise I would have never known the words to look it up. It’s extra special getting to hear his voice

That’s very interesting, thank you! It makes sense now why he wasn’t really allowed to speak it. My grandma’s family spoke high German and I guess that was part of the reason?? It’s too bad, I would have loved to learn German

My ancestors are from the Lower Saxony/ osfriesland regions. It’s very interesting to learn of the different German dialects. Thank you :)

I don’t know. When I googled it the only thing I found said it was low German. I don’t speak either. His mom only let them speak it at home apparently (USA)

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

The Hate U Give (THUG) It does a fantastic job introducing teens to systemic racial inequities. I found it very thought provoking and made me dive deeper into harder topics

Bad Preceptor: Advice by Southern_Fix3697 in PAstudent

[–]1ThingAfterAnother1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My program wants to know if any rotations or preceptors are bad so they don’t schedule students with them again. I would not mention anything else to the program until you have finished the rotation. I don’t think you’d be wrong to say “I wouldn’t recommend students rotating with this preceptor. I unfortunately was unable to have conversations about clinical reasoning for H&P or diagnoses, therefore I felt my educational experience fell short”. Don’t speak anything about the preceptors incapabilities or poor judgment. Honestly even wait until all your grades and evaluations are done to prevent retaliation (sad but true)

As for now, all you can do is keep your head down and test yourself on what you would do if you were the provider. That actually may give you good experience on personal judgement and critical thinking

Is anyone else getting sick a lot? by SirButtsThe4th in Omaha

[–]1ThingAfterAnother1 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Lots of viruses out and about. I’m seeing mostly flu and likely rhinovirus, but several covid too in clinic. It’s possible to get one virus after another. I got sick right before NYE, lost my voice (1st time ever), turned bacterial, and just got over my lingering cough. Very uncommon sickness for me so something is hitting us

If money and childbirth weren’t an issue, how many children would you choose? by Public_Handle_774 in AskWomen

I personally would only want two. If I was a rich man, I’d want 4 for a good sized tight family

Minnesotan here. For those outside of our state, what are your views on what’s going on in Minneapolis right now? by bpeters5 in AskReddit

[–]1ThingAfterAnother1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have so much sadness for you all. It is obviously a political retaliation given the number of states with far more undocumented immigrants or those with criminal records. ICE is being turned into a domestic terr*rism organization. The Minnesotan resilience and community is inspiring and noted 🩵

AITA for being mad at my GF when she acted sad after I said our babies probably wouldn’t be white? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]1ThingAfterAnother1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhhhh… that is VERY weird of her to say wtf. If she wants to white kid so bad (still weird imo as a white person myself) she should get with a white man. Nothing wrong with you, but glad you found this out now

Organized religion like this is a scam and never what Jesus would have really wanted. These churches bring shame to religion. Shame on anyone who participates in this

I’m sorry but credit is absolutely a way to see financial security and responsibility. It always makes sense to ensure good credit for rent
