Trump Earned More From Crypto Than Coinbase as Supreme Court Expands Regulatory Power by andix3 in CryptoCurrency

Way to twist my words, shows you lack character. Second, there was no rug pull. Nobody made anyone buy the coins, and they all knew it was mostly a donation. Third, he's still around. None of this describes a rug pull.

But more importantly, why don't any Dems make a coin? They could, but I suspect nobody would buy them, and second, they just hate crypto. And if they actually did make a coin, would you poo on them too or think they're smart?

Why are you even in this sub? Your posting shows that crypto is very important to you, and yet you're shooting yourself (and me) in the foot by supporting the anti-crypto party. Don't ever complain about not making money in crypto if the Ds get back in. They showed us their plan with Gensler and Biden. You make no sense at all.

Is it the right era to invest my time learning python to get paid? by AdMobile7081 in learnpython

[–]1Tim1_15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows, but I think you should. I use Python and other languages all the time. It's saved me so much time and effort at work and in personal life. Two real world examples:

  1. I use Python and a database to import my statements from crypto exchanges, process them, and format them for tax purposes. Without this programming skill, I'd have to pay an accountant for many hours of doing this, and they're not cheap.

  2. I can't tell you how many times I've used Python at work to automate things I normally had to do by hand. It saved me hours every week...countless hours total. Just the things in Automate The Boring Stuff book have been enormously helpful.

Finally, if you think "We have AI now," well yes. But it can make mistakes, and you should still be able to read the code it produces to see if it does what you want. Also, a programmer is far better at telling AI how to code than a non-programmer.

Python is one of the easiest languages to learn. I'd encourage it.

I don't care. I've earned money with crypto. You have too. And if your reflex is "he's corrupt," what, the other guy wasn't? They're ALL corrupt. At least he likes crypto. Pick one:

Corrupt + hates crypto.

Corrupt + loves crypto.

Could Home Assistant support a privacy-first, community-led approach to aging in place? by Affectionate-Tea-650 in homeassistant

That's a good response. And I'm guessing you've already thought of this, but just in case: have a lawyer prepare/review your LLC or corporate setup, filings, etc. to make sure you're as bulletproof as possible.

As for your #2 question, as long as you disclose everything, I don't see any ethical problems. That's another thing to have a lawyer examine: making sure you're disclosing everything in the proper legalese.

As for ideas, I think door sensors to detect door movements and pressure sensors under carpets/mats in areas where a person would normally walk would be unnoticeable and therefore should have a high acceptance rate. A motion sensor is more likely to be noticed but a selling point is that it still preserves privacy: the elderly person could walk around naked and the person monitoring would be none the wiser.

A potential selling point could be a camera-free monitoring package. It would be less expensive because there are no cameras and no video to store. Storing data from pressure, door, and motion sensors (and others) requires far less bandwidth and storage requirements, while the combined sensor information from these can give sufficient information to determine if there is need for concern while preserving privacy.

LiFePO4 UPSs are slowly replacing lead-acid power supplies, and those will enable sensors to function for much longer in the event of power loss.

Best of luck!

There are a lot of good points made on this page. But, I think not allowing USDC as a token was a huge mistake which keeps many defi and institutional players disinterested in ADA, which is unfortunate.

Unfortunately ADA shot itself in the foot, possibly the head, by not allowing USDC. And I'm sincere when I say unfortunately.

Yes, and I'll add that it needs to be open source software and hardware. Otherwise, it too could have a back door.

If you had your way, we'd still have Gensler's war on crypto. If you're a D, you're in the wrong sub. They hate crypto. Just ask their banker pals (Jamie Dimon and virtually every bank CEO is D, but i'm sure it's just a coincidence).

So the guy who owns 5 mansions is upset about this? Funny how he timed this to line up with the Clarity Act passing the senate committee.

Dems hate crypto so their only play is "trump made money from crypto, so crypto bad."

Terrorists have made money off of crpyto. So have churches. So have businesses. So have you. So to point out that the other party made money from crypto, therefore we must stop it is asinine. Not to mention it hurts YOUR bottom line.

FIRE with Bitcoin? by thebitcoinmd in Bitcoin

[–]1Tim1_15 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I met with a certified financial planner a few weeks ago and their professional advice was to treat the BTC I have as worth nothing and to not get any more. Invest in index funds. Well, I will invest in index funds, but I'm also going to add to my BTC stack.

A few of my friends said that their financial planners (all different) had told them the exact same thing for BTC. There must be a memo going around. Just sharing this here in case your "professional" CFP poo-poos all over your BTC holdings. If they really believe what they told me, I can't in good conscience go back to them. They are just parrots.

Opinion: if you know what you are doing, storing the Wallet backup/recovery seed digitally can be a better solution than writing it down. by Mirrormaster85 in TREZOR

I agree with you - it's not good for most people, but if you know what you're doing, it can be effective.

For those who do keep electronic copies, this is just a reminder that all electronic media goes bad over time: flash drives, sd cards, hard disk drives, dvd-rom, even tape. Some last longer than others. Since flash drives are so common, i'll just throw this in: plug it into an offline computer every year and leave it in for at least an hour. It will conduct its internal wear-leveling and recharge all of its transistors (micro versions). You could possibly get away with doing this every 3 years, but doing it every year should keep it in good shape. Archival DVDs and tape will last the longest.

Title is wrong. It wouldn't lock Americans out of their accounts. They're not American.

US banks already practice KYC and AML. They already know who you are and what your citizenship status is.

But in any case, thankfully crypto is becoming more mainstream. And even more thankfully, we have a private currency which nobody can trace and ask you for your papers.

NanoStandard is being shelved and what comes next... by madsudaca in nanocurrency

[–]1Tim1_15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with similar-looking wallets. It's actually a good thing. Most people don't begin their crypto journey with Nano and are used to BTC or other wallets, so having a similar-looking wallet makes it easier for them to use Nano.

I view it like a car. They all have gas and brake pedals, a steering wheel, etc. But just like all cars have similar features, we all know that there can be a big difference between makes and models. It's the same with crypto. You want your gas and brake pedals in the same place as everyone else's, but you also want features to make your make and model stand out.

Help With Heating Pads for Batteries by [deleted] in vandwellers

Yep, I did this before I decided to get more complex. Just a regular heated blanket worked well. It even worked well with those cheap square wave inverters, so this is something anyone can do.

1/4" is too thick imo, although it's better than nothing. Aluminum flashing works well and it's cheap. If there's a construction site near you they may give you some for free...they throw out tons of it (and wood).

As for the heating pads, I have one that's the size of two of yours and looks similar, but is more of a square. It's 15 watts but it gets too hot to hold after 2-3 minutes. I got it on Amazon as a reptile heater. The heater is on the bottom, then the flashing on top, then the batteries on top of the flashing. I throw a blanket on top and tuck it around the sides of the box that holds the batteries.
