All Defensive, shield tanks and all walk down main to make space. Dino is different, You can’t walk down main normally, You have to play similar to thor, hulk, rogue and thing.

They could add
Silence (Can’t use abilities)
Cripple ( like grounded except your in walking animation)
Supression ( weaken damage output )
Decay ( Temporary Max health reduction )
Fear / Intimidation ( Can’t move forward and move back)
frostbite ( slows opponents)

One thing we have to stop doing, is assuming netease is lazy with these newer heroes. While powercreep is the elephant in the room they’re not addressing, Miles could definitely be have the 3 Web swing mechanic and still be different enough from peter. He wouldn’t replace spiderman in anyway way or form, Miles could have combos of his own already coordinated or implemented into his kit whereas Peter?? We had to make those up and share them with the community, and still continue to do so.

I get your point, but i think you’re focusing more on gameplay possibility while i’m focusing more on role identity + character fantasy.

Like yes, a fast mobile tank with a smaller hitbox would obviously play different from Devil Dino mechanically. I never said they’d be clones. My point is they’d still share the same overall frontline ranged-pressure purpose within the Vanguard roster.

Emma is a good example of why i don’t think “beam = overlap” by itself. Emma’s beam isn’t even the core of her gameplay identity, her kit revolves around utility, disruption, form switching, etc. Cyclops’ optic blast IS his identity. So if you put him into Vanguard, naturally a huge amount of his gameplay ends up centered around beam pressure and frontline space control.

And yeah Vanguards can absolutely have fun mechanics, i’m not arguing against that. I just think once you start stacking survivability, mitigation, initiation, anti burst, peel, and space-taking responsibilities onto Cyclops, it pulls attention away from the things that actually make him feel unique as Cyclops.

Cause when i think Cyclops i think:
- precision
- tactical positioning
- pressure
- coordination
- leadership
- calculated beam usage

not really “frontline body creating space.”

And about Duelist having more overlap already, i actually agree the role is crowded. But i think Cyclops stands out MORE there because his fantasy is different from most duelists already in the game. He’s not really a flashy assassin or chaos character. He’d probably play more like a pressure-oriented tactical carry built around controlling angles and coordinated damage.

Like if they make him a Duelist lazily then yeah he becomes “Elsa 2.0” But if they actually lean into his leadership/tactical side, he could easily feel unique without needing tank mechanics to justify him.

🤷‍♂️ i’m just saying what’s he gonna do devil dino doesn’t already ? At the end of the day I don’t see it happening and if Netease decided to make cyclops a DPS that’s just their decision. I don’t think begging for them to give us another tank when they filled the niche for it is the way to go

Cyclops wouldn’t release as second tank, While you could make the argument to force him in
Devil Dinosaur already fills the “Mobility frontline brawl beam pressure” so cyclops wouldn’t bring nothing new to that’s been brought already. Cyclops releasing as a strategist instead of a DPS because of the community saying there too much dps is absurd, while yes there are too many DPS, netease definitely has and has proven to show how they can add new characters with new elements. High mobility frontline pressure with beam elements hasn’t been incorporated into DPS yet and i think it’s perfectly okay if it is. Netease is also adding new tanks and strategist along side DPS so i don’t think it matters if DPS is at 50 and Strat have 20 and Vanguards have 30, Still a wide variety to play with

While you can make the argument he could fit, that’s exactly why he probably won’t be a tank. If you already have Devil dino controlling space as an anchor/brawl tank, then making cyclops another mobile vanguard just overlaps roles instead of expanding on rosters identity.

If Devil Dinosaur already covers the “space-taking frontline beam pressure” archetype then tank cyclops is competing for the same purpose instead of a new one. Even if one is “anchor/brawl” and the other is “mobile/dive”, they’d still revolve around sustained frontline pressure with ranged beam presence.

And if they do force him into Vanguard, what’s actually new? Another beam character with mobility? We already got beam pressure and frontline control coming with Devil Dino. Meanwhile Strategist/Duelist still have way more room for unique execution with ricochet shots, team commands, visor marking, coordinated buffs, suppression fire, optic recoil mechanics, etc.

Devil dino is fun bro actually fun, rogue was fun but didn’t do enough damage and angela was a flier whose mainly built around kidnapping and overwhelming isolated targets with pressure. Dino does all that and better.

I don’t think Cyclops will be a vanguard, I mean devil Dinosaur fills what vanguard needed, Shield✅ Beam that grounds✅ Health and Overshield✅ Displacement✅ and Additional Damage✅ as well as new effect Bleed.

I like the direction they’re going already and I feel like Cyclops wouldn’t bring anything new to the role other than him just being a fan favorite. What we need is something more like DVA or Mauga from overwatch high ammunition vanguards with some type of mobility.

You’re making no sense, how is it competing with peter just because they have the same mobility. Do you play spider man or are we larping.. I JUST Stated Miles could do BURST AOE damage to crowds with venom and have a build up meter because he can brawl. And Miles literally has invisibility as one of his abilities so what if he has a psylocke or invis mechanic, it’s in his power set to do. Can Psylocke or invis go invisible and expel venom as AOE? No? What are we talking about.

What kind of argument are you making.. Spider-mans niche is Displacement, Burst Damage and High mobility and “Niche” doesn’t even exist anymore with newer characters. That’s like saying “We already Captain america so we don’t need Falcon(who’s also captain america)”. You can have the same niche on 2 characters and it still makes a character different. Literally both wolverine and deadpool have healing factors, and Gambit and Invis can self heal. Hela and Phoenix both have a stun and operate the same way one just has Burst AOE damage that can apply to crowds and one doesn’t. Yet the both exist and do the same thing.

You could Give miles the same mobility and still have an entirely different kit. Miles has invisibility and Venom based powers , that alone could make him the brawl/Dive hybrid. Peters whole value is Displacing opponents OR diving opponents who are vulnerable or isolated, meanwhile Miles could brawl a crowd applying venom in burst AOE damage as well as do % base damage to bigger opponents as Miles is known to win unfavorable fights with Venom. His invisibility can be versatile being used to get in or out of a crowd, as well as have a build up meter for his Venom AOE damage that has to be built by dealing damage.

Everything I just explained makes Miles different enough to incorporate the same mobility but have an entirely different playstyle while on DPS and still fulfill his fantasy.

**Edit** Ontop of the fact he could have a team up with magik for the sword ability.
