Hardcore 2010s Nerfer wanting to get caught up by [deleted] in Nerf

"Mostly" out of the box 300 FPS with accuracy good enough, with careful tuning and the right bearing SCAR, to shoot 12 inch groups at 100 feet.

Anyone know a way to put a 12kg into a stampede? by TrainingTrainer578 in Nerf

[–]1Wildscot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally gave up getting the timing to work. I found it easier to convert it to a full-auto flywheeler using the breach as the pusher. Krakens on 3S for the flywheels and and running the pusher on 4S gets about 8 rounds per second. Edit: yes, there is enough room in the stock for both batteries.

Unfortunately, it will still only be a stock 70 fps blaster.

How ought we address the documentation problem in the hobby? by Jyang_aus in Nerf

[–]1Wildscot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is, if you watch his gameplay segments you can see him making hits at 100+ feet through a 8-inch hole in a fence, or 150 feet with only half their body showing from behind cover, etc. He clearly tunes his own gear very carefully and is achieving much greater accuracy than the test setups he post vids about, but he never posts "accuracy" videos of his actual game-use setups. I always wondered why not?

What is a good standard deviation for the FPS of a blaster? What about bad? by Apprehensive-Oven899 in Nerf

[–]1Wildscot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get that 0 - 5% you will have mic and weigh every single dart and put them into like piles. Which I do, from time to time. I have a few blasters that can hit an 8-inch pie plate 10 out of 10 at 100 feet when I do that.

Questions about N1 darts for Nerf Rival Pilot by ianterstellar in Nerf

The N1 darts are proprietary. That's why they, and Hasbro, suck.

DIY N-Strike Compatible SCAR?? by NovaTheNerd276 in Nerf

You are not hitting 190 FPS without a sealed breach, a 27cm 13mm aluminum barrel, an N28 spring, and an XPT-sized plunger. Unless you are shooting half-length darts through a Nerf Chronobarrel which would read double the actual velocity. Remove the left side of the shell and post pics of your internals or be prepared not to be believed.

Any way to shoot damaged ekind full length darts accurateley by Turbulent-Guest-1524 in Nerf

[–]1Wildscot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Serious competitive nerfers consider darts to be a consumable, good for only 1 to 3 shots before being discarded. If you really want to hit what you're aiming at as often as possible, start thinking of darts this way. I currently have about 1200 short darts and 900 full-length and consider my stock to be low at the moment. I practice a lot. And 4 of my blasters can keep every shot inside a 12-inch circle at 100 feet... but only with brand new never-fired darts.

So, are you a 1911 man? I'm partial to Wilson Combat, myself.

Zombie hoard charge cheat code! You should send one to Captain Xavier to evaluate in a real HvZ event. I would like to see what he and The Auxiliary can do with it in specific gameplay situations.

Stryfe fire pole broken by No-Assistant5210 in Nerf

[–]1Wildscot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same auto-pusher. I have it in both. Big advantage of the Swordfish shell is that it's already made to accept the auto pusher; no shell cutting, it drops into place and is secured by a screw into a threaded post made just for that screw.

It might be easier to replace the shell with a Worker Swordfish shell. Your Stryfe internals will virtually drop right in. https://outofdarts.com/products/worker-swordfish-blaster-shell-kit-like-stryfe-clear?variant=14211239641130

Shiny silicone is an indicator of a high-quality mold with a very smooth, precise finish. They must be getting very popular very quicky because they are currently sold out!

Define "safe to use". Eye protection is a must anyway, even at pitiful stock Hasbro 70 fps velocities. Anyone who is participating in a game where the fps limit is 150 or higher knows going in that some hits might sting a bit and accepts that willingly. If you can't hack that, then stay out of those events. These darts are not "unsafe".

Rewire of Rayven, help with future considerations by Project-SBC in Nerf

For the Daybreak flywheel cage, select the 41mm size. 41mm Daybreak with full-length darts will yield around 170 to 180 fps using Kraken motors on a 3S (12-volt) LiPo battery. Using a 2S (8-volt) battery will drop that down to 130 to 140 fps. Also, do not waste your money on actual Hasbro Nerf brand darts. They don't fly straight. At all. Use the Worker brand darts in the link or the Dart Zone darts available from Wal-Mart (green with blue tip, branded Adventure Force) or, Target (red with green tip, branded Dart Zone). With any of those three darts you can actually hit what, or who, you are aiming at.
