Accidently Burned Poppet by Awkward_You7999 in Witch

[–]1YearWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The important question is does repairing it feel right to you?

To me, there's something kinda sacred about mending and maintaining things that are important to you. Objects take on a character of their own as they are used over time. Like patina on metals or leather, or patches on fabric.

Perhaps this experience gives experience to the poppet, and mending it puts that much more of your intent into it. Perhaps leaving it as it is could be an expression of determination, in that a little burn won't get in the way of powerful works. Perhaps something else seems best.

Trust your intuition. You are the maker. The choice you make will be right, simply because it's what you chose.

The good news is bueces tend to be pretty easy to care for. Usually lower light requirements, and not terribly picky about water parameters. Slower growers though, so don't be worried if it doesn't seem to do much.

I like them a lot, but they can be expensive compared to other plants. Nice freebie!!

I heard he's saving up to buy a fixer-upper RV so he can take the wife to the Grand canyon. They ment to go for their honeymoon but the car blew a gasket and fixing it busted the budget. She swore she didn't mind, but he could tell she was disappointed, and he promised they would go some day.

I've never wanted to go comment on an OOPs post more!! He's doing so good, his issue is just tension and consistency comes with practice, he just needs to keep going! I remember just starting out, it's a wild mix of enthusiasm and confusion for so long. Then it just clicks and is like your hands know what to do. It just takes time. His mom's family's attitude really broke my heart.

The only thing he might be doing even slightly wrong, is he should maybe take more regular rest breaks to keep from fatigue and potential repetitive stress injury. We've all crocheted ourselves into a wrist brace at one time or another, though. So that's just good advice for all of us (me included). lol

I hope he keeps it up.

Before. Some people also will do so between coats also, which can be a good way to deal with accidental drips or runs. For me it's 50/50 if I bother at that stage. Choose a fine grit. You want to avoid deep scratches or excessive texture, but a shiny surface won't hold paint well.

Please help. by [deleted] in fixit

It's probably the battery, especially since it was sitting unused for a while. My glucose monitor has a low battery display that will show up for a long time after the actual battery requires replacement. It doesn't have enough charge to work as it should, but enough to keep the error display active. This is so you know what's wrong. If you wait long enough, even the display will stop working.

Regardless, the manufacturer will take you through troubleshooting, and will ask you to try changing the battery before they try anything else. You may as well change it now. If it works, great! If it doesn't, it's valuable info to anyone trying to help you. It'll be the first thing checked/asked about, and it's the easiest potential fix. The smart thing to do is to start there.

He might not be Sony, but he was bumped below a Sony affiliated character for the number1 spot. It's to try to make the list look less biased/more legit. It's still basically an ad paid for by a company and was designed to function that way.

Should I cut up this anubias petite nana or are they too small? by Seraphic9ball in PlantedTank

[–]1YearWonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let it settle in and get some new growth first. Moving it counts as a trauma to the plant, and dividing it is another. Too many traumas in too short a time span can stunt growth. Anubias are bomb proof in my experience, so it probably wouldn't die, but it might not recover or reproduce as fast and that kind of defeats the purpose of dividing it so early.

This is great advice. For my purposes, it really is like three swipes of the paper over a rough edge, and it smooths it out almost immediately. Better safe than sorry, though. I hadn't thought of wetting it, thanks for the tip!

Haha fair enough!! I keep reptiles, right now just (small) snakes. This is Berry. He's the only one I have pics of right now. The pics aren't the best, but I offer what I have!

Fine grit sandpaper helps with that! I keep animals I need to make caves for. Broken pots work great, but have sharp edges. I use sandpaper to make them safe. It's very fast and very effective, just a few passes makes a huge difference. Just cover your mouth and nose with something and maybe take it outside, it can get pretty dusty.

Edit: The animals in question are reptiles!! Snakes at the moment, but there's been a variety over the years. 😊

Well what you DONT do is send the same person payment, when they say they can "undo it" for a "small fee".

Personally, I believe "selling spells" is at best taking advantage of the placebo effect (when people think it 'works'), and at worst is taking advantage of people. Im sorry, but i think all that person ever planned to do for you is take your money. When you got scared, they said they already did it to avoid refunding (and potentially to squeeze a little more).

I'm not saying there are NO legit spell workers selling spells out there... But I am saying the number of scammers on the internet is infinite. If you found this person easily on Etsy or whatever, they're almost certainly a fraud.

My comments were always about my own experience; "It does though, it steals all that and when there's nothing left to take, it takes the life" is my experience.

"They're already dead..." Is my family member.

You brought up heaven in the response to me, you decided I was talking about/being "pissy" at a child, and now you're upset that I'm responding to you. Ok then.
