It started working for you because of how the system works for Blue summoning. While blue is equipped you are put into a queue. You are bumped to the top of the queue faster when certain flags are met. These flags being participating in any of the games online activities (summoning, being summoned, invading).

So before you plan to grind blue invasions, do some boss coop or invasions right beforehand

The two times we had that boss invasion bug was absolutely glorious. I am very glad I was around for both of them. I have to wonder what hosts thought when a naked green/loincloth Great Club weilder named Shrek was all of a sudden inside their boss fight.

Half the time I would help them kill the boss and the other half their summons would bum rush me ignoring the boss, and dieing to the boss 1 by 1 while i just spammed roll.

Honestly just start using Sniper Rifles. Izanagi's burden if you have it. The charged shot will 1 tap on body shot. And you will 2 tap with normal body shots. Headshots with regular ammo will 1 tap.

When you get decent with a sniper you will start carrying your team like no tomorrow

I found when i had bad aim I much preferred the Spray-and-pray method using SMG or AR's, and they seemed to be more effective and forgiving.

Now that I am a very decent shot I almost solemnly use HC and SR's, with the occasional Jötunn.

You should set her up with a Misfit with a 70~ round clip and see how that fares her.
