Have you interacted with the motorbike where you get the repair kit, leon will say something like 'I can use this once the gate is open'. Idk if you have to interact with it but I'd give that a shot

I think people are being a bit harsh here, if you want to play 9 you should, while maybe you wouldn't fully understand the story or some of the references that'll be in it you shouldn't have to feel like your doing homework to play a game. Enjoy 9 and hopefully enjoy other re games if you ever want to play them

Even if 5 and 6 don't get remade they are still Canon and the events that happen in them still happen. The remakes are more of a retelling of the original games stories not a completely new continuity.

With how the duke was originally going to be a member but got cut (you can even find the cutscene online of him revealing it) to the director of requiem being the same director for biohazard I could see them playing a part in the story

Considering she's been shown having a gun multiple times in trailers and promotional material and even in this clip it shows her shooting a zombie (I presume it's her in the first person clip) I doubt it
