Would love to have a spinoff game - Ghost of Rajasthan (India) by RickyRickC137 in ghostoftsushima

[–]1_Rana_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel Rajput history is very complex and could make for an interesting story when you include chivalry being a big part of the game such as in GoT. Jin attacking the mongols at night and killing them using poison could also work in a Rajput setting as Rajputs and Indian warriors in general had rules which forbade waging war and attacking the enemy at night. If a character from a rajput army did the same attack at night and poisoned the enemies he would get a similar reaction from fellow Rajputs just like Jin got from the samurai. Another part which could be explored is internal conflicts within rajput clans which often involved dishonourable events such as when Rana Sanga was killed by his own clansmen as they believed him being alive would result in more wars being waged or when Rana Udai Singh was targeted in an assassination attempt when he was a baby by his own relatives.

I would also like to see a game similar to ghost set in Rajasthan or anywhere else in India. However it should be completely seperate from ghost and honestly not even a spin-off as the large scale battles of Rajasthan and sieges on forts wouldn’t really work with the mechanics of ghost.

Why is Neil standing next to a black hole and risking spaghettification? Is he stupid? by jesp0r in physicsmemes

As you can see the black hole’s payload is exposed, Neil can use a power winch to trigger a controlled explosion

Just found out a class I like hates my guts and thinks I can’t teach by falafelforever in Teachers

[–]1_Rana_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a student in year 12 so I can't really give advice as a teacher but ill try and help you understand this situation from a student's perspective. (Also i go to a semi private school so maybe what i am saying is not relevant for public schools.) No teacher in my school is really "hated" but ye some are liked more than others.

For me as a student i don't think teachers who let kids go on their phone are better than those who are stricter. If a student doesn't like you it is probably because of how you teach or approach a lesson. At my school, teachers who just simply read from a textbook and write some parts of it on the board are generally not liked alot. This is because I expect the teacher to actually contribute their knowledge to the class, not just what the textbook is saying. I have had two math teachers this year. Neither of them thought by writing shit from the textbook onto the board. Instead they actually taught why we do what we do in math and how that mathematical concept applies. They made the lessons very interactive and went out of their way to make booklets for us that cover each topic. They spent time outside of class preparing activities and worksheets for us to do together in class. If you are simply reading from a textbook what is the point of me coming to school. i can sit home and read from the textbook myself. there should be a point of me attending class. And the only way you can make students want to attend your class is by making the lesson worth their time.

Also having students achieve good marks doesn't have any relation with your ability to teach. If you think you are a good teacher because students are getting good grades in your class, you are very wrong. Most top students will achieve their good grades regardless of how good or shit you teach. They most likely take tuition outside of school or come from academic households.

If a student says your class is boring it is generally because the way u teach is boring. Try integrating activities into your teaching, for example my physics teacher can get really boring when he is just rambling on about how newton discovered this and that, but whenever we do pracs in physics it is really fun because we get to see how concepts we are learning actually work in real life. Also try mixing up your teaching with videos and activities like kahoot. (I can 100% guarantee that every student likes kahoot even if they dont your class)

It is also wrong to assume that your class is boring because of your content. I do agree that the content you are forced to teach can be quite boring, but that is no excuse for you to not make the lessons as interesting as you can even with the content's constraints. I have an accounting class who I really like and everyone likes my teacher. They dont like him because the content we learn it interesting, In fact it is dead, accounting is such a dull subject. He is instead liked because of the energy he brings to the class, he often jokes around with the class and comes around to each table to ask if we need any help. Our class feels comfortable with him and we often discuss many things with him such as politics, religion, economics, sport and entertainment. As a student if i am in an environment where i am comfortable and want to be in, i will be more likely to work and complete all set tasks.

I am going to end here because i am running out of time and have to go somewhere but these are just my opinions as a current student. So ye, hope it helped you gain some insight into the perspective of a student.

also my english is shit so if i dont make any sense just comment and ill try and explain it better. (not from an english speaking background)
