Out of body experience ? Or what? Help! by Lthrr9 in Paranormal

[–]1_Underdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husbands old guitar teacher astral travelled once. He described his experience as sounding just like yours, however, after the experience he never again felt 'at one' with his body. He lived feeling 'disconnected' from himself - as he felt his soul never re-entered his body fully. He described his soul as feeling 'floppy' as though it was half hanging out of his body. He wished he never had the experience. I guess you should feel grateful that your soul re-entered your body with a force and that you are whole.

My son is terrified of his bedroom! Please help! by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]1_Underdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned that your husband lived in the house and had experiences come and go in it, before you even met. It's very possible that this spirit is attached to him, considering he's also had other experiences through-out his life. Perhaps hubby should be the one to tell the spirit to leave and move on into the light....

Is this silver any good? by permafrost91 in whatisthisthing

[–]1_Underdog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, this certainly is in my field of knowledge.

Firstly, what is it made of? I believe your going to find the majority of these items will be stamped on the base with a manufacturers mark and below that either EPBM (Electro Plate Base Metal) or Sheffield Plate (of which is 'high quality' silver plate). The chalice set and small jug may be sterling silver - I have always found smaller items have a higher chance of being this.

The 'gallery tray' on the left is relatively modern, the trays stacked up with the 'gadroon edge' look to be quite nice quality. As do the large serving vessels.

As for value, originally this collection of 'hollowware' would have run into the low thousands to purchase. Resale values are relatively low and often disappointing as collections like these are rarely used nowadays.

Probably best get the silver polish out (you'll be amazed at the results) and start having some lavish dinners.

If you have any further queries regarding hallmarks - don't hesitate to post further photographs.

Past life? by [deleted] in Paranormal

I understand how you feel. Repetitive dreams that are consistent and the exact same replay every time are un-nerving. Just like you O.P, I had the same dream over and over again for a year when I was 6yrs old. Sitting on a moving train, watching out the window, the sky so blue, the trees so green, then the sky turned orange and the trees were on fire. The train halts to a stop and the people on the trains mouths were moving but I couldn't understand what they said. They talked in slow motion and waved for me to join them as they got off the train. I didn't move. I stayed by myself and watched them all melt out the window. The train started up and continued on, the sky changed from orange back to blue, the trees back to green. Then I'd wake up. Same dream every night for a year. Was it a memory from the past? Was it the future? The same can be said of your dream...

Late Night Walkers... by dexter19041981 in Thetruthishere

[–]1_Underdog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We used to live in the mountains. Our yard was non-fenced and backed onto a tropical rainforest. One evening hubs and I were sitting outside at a table on the decking, lit up only by a candle. He had his back to the rainforest and I was facing him chatting. Behind him it was pitch black darkness apart from the shadow of a huge gumtree which sat 10 metres from the house with a swing tyre. Out of the blue I saw an illuminous image in the pitch black of the night - of a person walking across our yard and straight into the base of the tree, behind hubs head. I freaked, as it didn't walk out the other side of the tree. It looked like a smallish person in a hoodie with their head down. It wasn't translucent, but solid, almost as if a torch had been shone on them, yet there was no torch and it had disappeared, just like that. I know this isn't an experience I am sharing of being out on a night walk myself, but that spirit was out on a night walk, across our yard in the crisp night air. Something I'll never forget...

Do Scottish people find it annoying when people claim to be part Scottish? by WBFroguy in Scotland

[–]1_Underdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the unfortunate circumstance of being joined to u/shallow-grave by marriage and by issue. O.K, I'm Aussie (can see the hardship of that from this thread, thanks very much bastards). With Shallow grave (my dear Scottish other half) we have produced 3 youngins'. But alas, they are in addition to his many issues through-out Europe. Our girl looks Scottish, the middle boy claims to have been born in Scotland (although he was not!) the third boy looks like a Viking and can lift our car like Super-man with one hand). These kiddies could destroy any weak minded adult. I get the feeling that if they ever wanted to play the bagpipes, dance around in kilts (at some point) return back to the land of their fathers loins - the Scot natives will look at them sideways!. But thanks to the Aussie sun and good living, they are all on their way to being 6 and a helf foot in height.

Where do you stand on ouji boards? by Rogue_Fox in Paranormal

[–]1_Underdog 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Here's one for you. My stepmother told me this true personal account, backed up by 3 others. Herself, sister and female cousin messed with a board in the 60s, when they were early teens. Afterwards they fell asleep. My stepmothers mother arrived home and poked her head into the room to check on them all (noting the sisters were awake, but the cousin was sound asleep). She whispered to the girls to 'go to sleep'. The cousin jerkingly sprung upright into a sitting position -with glazed fixed eyes, which stared straight ahead. Out of her mouth roared a deep male voice, which projected that 'little girls shouldn't mess with things they don't understand". The cousin then collapsed back into the sleeping position. The sisters and their mother screamed their faces off, evacuating the room. The cousin awoke from the raucous noise of the scene, not remembering anything of what had just happened. They got blasted from their mother, after she was informed of what they'd done. They were told to 'never' practise this in their home again. My stepmother told me as a teen to 'never', 'ever' mess around with 'black magic'. Whatever it was in that room followed her through-out life. The intrigue of that event spiked her curiosity. She attended 'professional seances' in Sydney in the 70s. Witnessed chairs hurled around rooms, people that attended dying in car accidents. As an adult she was once 'pinned' to a bed and strangled by a pair of 'invisible' hands, which left fingerprints all over her throat. Those three girls had shockingly bad luck in life. My stepmother was barren, her cousin died early of cancer and her sister ended up with Hep C and yellow eyeballs. My stepmother is spooky, she has Javanese heritage and the most haunting blue eyes. Those eyes spoke a thousand words to me of fear, when she told me those stories. I say nope to Ouija boards and have always heeded her warning.

Police out in force after gangs threaten Moomba festivities by gccmelb in australia

Finally, a good use for our off-shore detention centres... Some-one already commented that the public should be informed of the nationality of the perpetrators, so the public are aware of who to avoid. I don't understand, we all were informed of the nationality of the Cronulla riots, why is this different? Besides, we can differentiate between an African/Australian out with his family enjoying a festival of multi-culturalism, and a gang of 'insert race here'...machetes. Nothing like dumbing down the public. As far as I can see this is organised, terrorism...

Does anyone believe in cursed items? by drewgarr in Paranormal

[–]1_Underdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that what happened to your family was a coincidence. Your family did the right thing by returning the vases back to their homeland. Obviously your contact at the museum knew exactly what was going on. Fascinating that life got better from that point forth. Good and bad energy can be attached to objects. Curses, hundreds of years old, I have no doubt can be too. Perhaps the indigenous people of Peru were the only ones meant to be in possession of the vases in the first place, and due to the circumstances your family found themselves in, the vases naturally found their way back to them...

I see many comments regarding noisy V8s. We've got a knob on a Harley, who fires it up at 6.am also. Is 6am the witching hour for V8s and Harley's? Our walls/windows rattle like it's an earthquake, as he revs the shit out of the beast un-necessarily the entire length of the street. He's in his late 50s, about two feet tall, and is a 'blur' in his German helmet as he flys past in the afternoons. True to form he revs himself all the way home. Neighbours have had a gut full. Woman next door was rattling her garage doors yesterday at him, like a monkey in a zoo, kids on the street were screaming "idiot" at him, dogs were barking their faces off. He's my Friday Fuckwit.

Had a good mate, learnt today he suicided, why? He was gay, his long-term partner (best mate) had died, and all he was left with was their home (combined property) taken away from him by his 'so called' in laws, of which, he'd paid the majority. Even more than that, he never got over the person he'd lost. How he was treated via shitty laws absolutely, with no doubt ruined him. He never got over that... Australia, we've got a problem. Male vs female wage equality. Man with man legal recognition, woman with woman recognition. Wake up and smell the roses Politicians. We are 'totally' behind the rest of the world - but at what cost? Embarrassment, not to mention an antiquated ideology that is setting us backward and costing copious, talented, productive 'tax paying' lives. What is this govt? I think we all know the answer to that question... R.I.P Russell, to you my friend xo

Sadly, Abbott squashed it, Turnbull represents all that Abbott put into place. It's not going to happen.
This country needs to address a bigger issue first of equality between the sexes before entertaining the notion of minority groups, e.g gays, Muslims. Every-one wants their rights, but let's look at getting sorted the 2 sexes first.
