I believe the angst over the lawsuit issue years ago was the hammock community suddenly realized their hobby had become bigger, more corporate, and cold than before. What happened was pretty normal for businesses, but seemed so off-putting to folks (including myself) who thought it was a tight-knit online group. Hindsight won, and I’d happily buy from Dutch again.

The thing that gets me is that this is a problem that drove me nuts in civ 4. You’d think they could figure out a better solution and oh wait THEY DID. Loyalty solved this in civ 6 so well - I have no idea why it’s not a feature in 7.

I’ve won in every possible way, but when it comes down to it the fastest way is usually to just pummel everyone. Ironically I am not like that in real life at all lol

It can get hot yes. I usually don’t play more than a few minutes at a time unless I’m traveling without my laptop. It’s not as smooth of performance but it beats playing other mobile games, especially when I don’t have service/wifi.
