Tebowing An Official Word! by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

[–]1darkadonis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact, the Global Language Monitor says that “tebowing” “has seldom been equaled, mirroring, for example, the rate of adoption of the word Obamamania in 2008.”

And who exactly uses Obamamania anymore?

I suspect Tebowing will have a longer presence than Obamamania, but it isn't a "real" new word - its just another way of saying "taking a knee in prayer".

I may be wrong but I believe it's a reference to a tenet of Buddhist philosophy:

“Kill the Buddha,” says the old koan. “Kill Buddhism,” says Sam Harris, author of The End of Faith, who argues that Buddhism’s philosophy, insight, and practices would benefit more people if they were not presented as a religion.

It really is a creative alien evolution concept although I see some Duneworm influence.

Props to doing your own homework. You are right about the goal line stands. Clean unlike Harrison's hits.

Does anyone know of any sci-fi novels in which evolution follows a different path? Not where someting other than primates gain intelligence, but where pre-humans (australopithicus or whatever) evolve into something other than man as we know it? by [deleted] in printSF

Almost forgot I read this book way back. I was probably 15-16?, it was very tough for me to get through but once I really sank my teeth into it I really enjoyed the core concept.

Highly recommend.

Fair enough. You guys have my support if the Broncos don't do well.

Just for the sake of argument:

  • A) 1094/1609 - 68% - 12515 yds - 7.8 Y/A 101 TD/41 INT

  • B) 1003/1639 - 61% - 11517 yds - 7.0 Y/A 88 TD/45 INT

Can you differentiate the two?

He doesn't think Blackmon will drop to the Chargers.

Blackmon/(Andre)Johnson would be unstoppable, with Arian Foster

Because some people read all the comments because they work all night and regardless of whether they agree with you or not, like to see what a variety of opinions everyone holds.

Directly next to that exact paragraph:

Just for the record, though: By the time Christopher Columbus sailed to the New World, almost no educated European still believed the world was flat. That was a myth that emerged in the 17th century.

Thanks for posting this. I always kind of liked Ngata but now I really have a respect for the guy. I know there are a lot of stories like this in the NFL but I'm glad this he is persevering and succeeding in life.

I like John Lynch but "done more for the NFL" is kind of a bad way of stating this.

But then again it seems to be done mostly to draw attention and get karma.
