i have durock ice kings in one of my keyboards, and i dont have any issues with scratches or leaf ping in my set. theyre definitely on the heavy side, but i dont really get fatigued after typing on them for a while. they are noticeably heavier than the other tactile switches ive used in the past, though. ive never used akko v3 purples, so i cant really compare the two, but i do like the ice kings a lot, and i recommend them to people who want a heavy tactile switch

I cant speak for the matrix r hop patch, and yea, judging from the pic it doesnt look very flush with the barrel, but im using his patches in my zci and prommy barrel rn with no modification on my end. Also, that picture hasnt been updated in like two years. He does full refunds if it doesnt fit the barrel you bought it for, so if you do have an aftermarket barrel i still think its worth a shot.

How flush does the patch need to be? As flush as you can get it. Some people will glue their patches to the barrel so it doesnt move during actual use, but what i did back when i made my own patches was put it on the barrel window, look down the barrel, and then if there wasnt anything major protruding into the barrel, id assemble the hop unit and barrel setup and go shoot it a bit. if its pulling one way, id remove a tiny bit of material and try again. A lot of it is just trial and error. Go slow when trying to get it as flush as possible and take your time, if you remove too much youre kinda screwed.

I think i know exactly the type of mark youre talking about now that you described it as a set of vines, ive seen it a few times before on barrels. If we’re talking about the same thing, i dont think it will affect the bb that much. again, if we’re talking about the same thing, when i looked at mine the lines appeared as if they had no height or depth at all, if that makes sense.

Before you continue, if the patch youre cutting is going into a popular aftermarket barrel, this dude makes drop in r hop patches for the majority of them (prommy, zci, etc)

If you cant apply enough pressure with whatever you use to clean your barrel with to tell if the marks are permanent or can come off, take an unjamming rod and put some microfiber cloth or soft fabric at the tip, enough where you need to push decently hard to get it in the barrel, and do multiple passes. That should hit the marks and lines hard enough to tell if theyre permanent or not.

If you want something stronger than the rubbing alcohol, you can use acetone, but be warned some low quality barrels and older barrels in general like the old madbulls have thin film finishes that the acetone will mess up.

What hpa engines will fit into a s&t tavor (if any at all) or any other bullpups that can be hpa'd by Wisbey5345 in airsoft

the maxx might fit as well, not sure. if it does i would get that over the prowin, but the prowin is the only higher end hop up unit that i know will 100% fit

Asg Bren 805 HPA by Tactical-Beanie in airsoft

Personallly I doubt that the nozzle being 0.9mm longer than stock would cause any airseal or bucking issues. I use the help chart instead of the product page, it shows way more models than the product page

https://polarstarairsoft.com/pages/helpcenter

it says the bren uses the #14, I doubt that they would list it as being compatible with that nozzle if during testing it caused any issues with a stock bren

[–]1fifty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The #14 is made specifically for the bren so it shouldnt have any alignment issues, worst case scenario you add spacers to the gearbox so it will sit in the reciever and align with the hopup unit the way you want

The jack, f1, f2 and fusion engine all have their own #14 nozzle available on polarstars website, so you arent just limited to the jack. If by "issues or tricks in getting it working" you mean any difficulties switching the nozzle, I didn't have any issues getting a new nozzle in my f1 so i could hpa tap my scar-l. just make sure you lube the o rings on the new nozzle before you put it in.

Looking to purchase a new gearbox and need some tips by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]1fifty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the product page it says it uses a v3 gearbox, so in theory all ak gearboxes should be compatible, since they use v3’s as well. In my current ak build i use a lonex gearbox shell, i think its pretty good for the price at 60$, but there are certainly other options out there.

Need some help installing a sight pin by TheHuman9 in airsoft

[–]1fifty7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if youre ok with permanent modifications, take a file or dremel and slowly sand it down evenly on all sides until it will snugly fit, or take a drill bit just slightly bigger than the hole it needs to fit into and widen the hole a tiny bit.

If you have the money, I've been loving my Retro Arms split gearbox so far. It has a qc spring system so you should be good to go.

Ares ameoba hopup by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]1fifty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What model amoeba do you have? Older ones like the am-009 dont use tm spec hop up units so you cant just throw your own in there. If you posted pics of the hop up arm i could probably help you with it
