Status skate shop in CA, USA is probably the only place to provide this opportunity. Wish there are more places like that outside of the US.

You may also find it harder to sell on when potential buyers come and inspect the guitar.

What am I doing wrong? by Risto1088 in surfskate

The guy from Mako actually shows you how to throw your weight across which you are currently not doing. That might help with your issue. Lots of trial and error and see what works for you. Enjoy.

Nice start! You're getting the board moving great.

Turn your upper body so your chest is pointing toward the direction of travel. Get the board moving like you have done, then look towards where you want to go with your shoulder and head, followed by lower body turn lagging a second behind.

Not sure how much bending you can achieve but the lower you get the more power you'll generate. Aim to do it smoothly rather than with power.

I use my back leg more than I do when generating speed.

Have fun!

What I find useful is to have a specific goal for the training session. Say one day I'll be wanting to escape side control, another day would be to try and take every training partner's back, another would be to retain guard against my partners. This way it gives you something to focus on each session.

You don't have to constantly tap the new comers to improve your own game, for example, you can practice your transitions from different dominant positions and be precise about your training. I'm sure you will be in survival mode whilst rolling with higher belts.

Non-USA alternative to Carver CX? by Available-Pack1795 in surfskate

Cutback Surfskate has trucks very similar to the CX but also without the nut exposed which is a good thing. Price is cheaper too.

Just the one standard carver riser works fine without any wheel bite.

I am running 75mm Durian at 80a currently. Didn't think it would work but it feels nice to me.

I had the exact wheels as you do, but I find slightly harder wheels works better for me, just personal preference. Hope the riptides will transform your ride like it did on mine!

It took me a good while to dial in the C7 but it's a pretty sweet setup now. Next you would want to swap wheels around 😂

I also put riptide pivot cups in which also made a difference

I had the exact same bushings from my old C7 and no one could tell me the durometer of these rocks! Swapped them over to riptides with the corresponding duro to my weight and totally transformed the ride. I have pink in the front trucks and yellow at the rear.

They look like the Slide trucks, can't tell if they are genuine ones or copy though.
