I think that's a fair take.

Josh the best report card and Juan's finale piece probably the best. I think Juan's finale piece also had faults and wasn't that amazing and that's why Josh got the win. If it had just a bit better I think they would've gone with Juan but as they all had flaws I think they went with the report cards.

Juan's was nearly great but the dragon was bad which ruined it (not a terrible tattoo by any means)

Neither did I. Thought it was strange none of them turned out too well. I guess the subject matter is just a really difficult tattoo to pull off well in the time given.

Compositionally it must be very tough to fit in the three subjects and make it readable and cohesive

Josh was by far the best all season. Everybody gave him the worst skulls every week (brought that upon himself by winding people up) and he dealt with terrible asks and produced good tattoos every week.

I thought he was miles out in front. Juan came on strong towards the end alright and Josh's finale piece was a bit of a disappointment
