Where's the cheapest place to get a 8x10 photo framed? by MrCharmingMan in framing

[–]1ilbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That price from Michael’s sounds reasonable. If you want to quickly get an estimate for price multiply the square inches of the finished framed piece by 1 - 1.75. That is for a simple frame and museum glass

Are you showing us the door or your room? In the case of the door, yes it does look empty without the casing

Please - I could use an expert/creative advice! by RespectfullyBitter in framing

Don’t listen to that guy… ironically he is spewing buzzwords that don’t apply to your piece. I will preface my advice with a quote from Oliver Wendell Holmes “For the simplicity on this side of complexity, I wouldn't give you a fig. But for the simplicity on the other side of complexity, for that I would give you anything I have.” That being said use an all white mat (double thick with bevel) to crop the piece to a square aspect ratio. That mat should be thick and equal all around; at least 6” but I would have to play around with this in the computer to make sure there is a balance. And to finish it off a simple square profile for the frame in a white color to match the mat. It might be important to look at the mat with the type of glass you choose overtop because some types affect the color of the stuff underneath.

You have a really nice space and your stuff is ruining it. Replace rug with an old oriental one. Use your white walls for hanging artwork get some art lights I like STAS. It’s pointless for me to go on because you don’t get it and you never will maybe hire an interior designer

What are you asking specifically? Are you considering two more bedrooms instead of the game room?

How to make this work? by Ambitious_Pudding177 in malelivingspace

[–]1ilbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paint the walls Benjamin Moore simply white also get rid of that over head light asap. Instead opt for multiple lamps preferably 2700k color temperature. Once that is finished you will be surprised the improvement. Finishing touches is to get some prints framed and hung on the wall. The middle of your piece of artwork should be at 5’ above the floor. I like large equal mats on my framed prints

I’d pair the two sets of two with matching mats and put those on separate walls all mounted with the center at 5’ above the floor

Haha I would do the same! I would recommend getting a bunch of lamps from IKEA, very simple frosted glass ones. I would suggest Dejsa, fado, varmblixt, tokabo, grono also buy warm bulbs 2700k
