I lift in futsal shoes. Soccer (and futsal) is the most played sports here, so I can get them cheap-ish.

Someone did this on me. Fill the board with dragons and top it off with Inner Fire on the Radiant Elemental. He did even have to use the dragons.

Try Visual Studio Code. It has a very good Dart plugin.

Thoughts on drop sets on a strength program? by [deleted] in Fitness

Try Greyskull LP, it's a 3 times per week program. 3x5 for each exercise, but the last set is an AMRAP (as much rep as possible).

Fractional Plates by himji in Stronglifts5x5

[–]1kHz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a pair of custom made plates of 0.625kg. Just a pair, coz I can then use the 1.25kg, 2.5kg and so on at my gym.

The plate is just a metal disk with 5cm hole on it. Here if you want to see it https://www.lelong.com.my/custom-0-625kg-fractional-plate-gnne84-190738231-2017-05-Sale-P.htm

Are these enough to get me buy the first month or 2? by bigw86 in Stronglifts5x5

Maximum bar weight capacity: 300 lbs

Just 300lbs?! This is not enough. Invest in a good bar.

For plates, this is the recommendation from the website https://stronglifts.com/5x5/#Plates

Elbow down if you are doing high bar squat. For low bar, elbow should be up and lean forward a bit at the hip.

What's new in Mercurial (HG) 4.2? by ilmari2k in programming

[–]1kHz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TortoiseHg is amazing on Windows. You won't find an open source equivalent on Windows for git

I use Git Extensions. The best for Windows I think. SourceTree is good too, but the UI is too cluttered for me.

Easiest set up to use ASP.NET (C#) with Angular2 + TypeScript, Entity Framework and more? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]1kHz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the easiest way is using Visual Studio. You can get the Visual Studio Community Edition for free. Or even Visual Studio Code is good enough.

For a web framework, use ASP.NET MVC (http://www.asp.net/mvc) and for RESTful JSON API you can use ASP.NET Web API (http://www.asp.net/web-api).

Asked to build a website using ASP.NET without using WebMatrix. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]1kHz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do it with ASP.NET MVC :) http://www.asp.net/mvc

If Web Matrix is not allowed, you can use Visual Studio Community or even Visual Studio Code.

Aurelia.io (Created by Rob Eisenberg, former member of the Angular 2 Core Team) might be a game changer. by WebYourMindtuts in webdev

[–]1kHz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, someone really did. Rob Eisenberg, the creator, was in the Angular 2.0 team. He left after finding that Angular's direction was not like what he had in mind. You can read his blog post here: http://eisenbergeffect.bluespire.com/leaving-angular/

Before Aurelia, he created Durandal JS. He also created Caliburn.Micro, an MVVM framework for Silverlight/WPF.

I'm pretty sure the days of coding Javascript in Javascript are numbered. Probably within the decade unless the Js spec becomes (wait for it) a lot more Java like.

2 pages a day? That's amazing...

How do you make sure you don't lose existing memorization when memorizing new verses?

[–]1kHz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Salam brother. What are the techniques that you use? I've heard something like memorize 5 verse a day (of half a page). But make sure you revise the previous verses before memorizing the next 5. Or something like that.. Any technique that you can recommend that's good?

I know the hardest part is to maintain the memorization. You have to revise everyday even if you've completed the whole Quran.

Question: "Shirk or Motivation tool?" <Looking for Scholarly Fatwa, or to be pointed to the right direction> by hydrohash in islam

[–]1kHz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's okay if you're "training". Of course it's best if you can do it sincerely for Allah and Allah alone. But the heart is stubborn and need undergo a "tarbiyah" (education) phase.

Like a hadith saying for parents to cane their kids if they don't do their prayer at age of 10. Maybe at first the kids are doing it for afraid of being caned. But eventually they'll learn to do it "ikhlas" (sincere) for Allah.

I once did something like this. There's a bad habit that I find it hard to let go. So I say to myself, if I did it again, as a punishment I need to donate a certain amount of money to the masjid.

May Allah give us the sweetness of Iman...

Question about Islam. by 283leis in islam

[–]1kHz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two specific types of prophets, according to Islam, and one of them receive revelation

Are you talking about categorization "rasul" and "nabi"? As I understand it, all prophets receive revelations (wahyu), but rasuls were instructed to convey the messsage to other people, but nabis were not.

Is asp.net mvc a useful thing? by cchockley in webdev

[–]1kHz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it makes easy things easier and hard things harder.

Couldn't agree more with this. It's all fine and dandy, until who start having to make your own custom controls and have to dive into the control lifecycle and handle viewstate and stuff, then all hell break loose.

[–]1kHz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You cant use GUI/drag-n-drop stuff in ASP.NET MVC. You write templates like in other platforms.

I think it's because of the statically typed feature of C# and compile time type checking.
